Getting to Hidden Galaxies
So I decided to explore around one of the negative galaxies, but I think HG may have fixed it. I tried editing the save file RealityIndex and can't get it to recognize anything outside the 0 to 256 range. Negative numbers just count down from 256. I tried negative values over 256, like -259, in case they only checked once, but it just rolls again. Does anyone have any tips on how to do this? I'm thinking I may have to go back to an old client version.

I tried for several hours going all the way back to the launch version yesterday. Got nowhere. The save editor by goatfungus can't read the launch version but has a coordinates viewer to add starting point coords. Problem is, that list doesn't include negative galaxies. Even with the old save editor nmsse, it can edit the json, but has no coordinates viewer. Every time I tried, it just restarted me on a different planet in euclid. I could not figure it out and gave up. I think it needs coords and heavy json edits. Every system discovery entry has a zero, corresponding to euclid. Possibly changing all to a -1 and having actual coords would do it, but how to get coords............ If I knew scripting I'd write something to auto change all the 0 entries to -1 and save a headache. It would be worth trying. Maybe I've missed something, but I have no clue as to what.

There is a reddit user who claims to have been in galaxy -23 and was exploring the negative galaxies. All he said was he used nmsse to edit the json. I've sent him a message asking him how he did it. I'm waiting to hear back. Maybe he was, maybe not, I can't say, but if I hear back with a real answer as to how, I will let you know.

What's different about the negative galaxies? With 256 'normal' ones, I kindof assumed most variations of things would have been tried.

The numbers -1 through -6 should still work as for the RealityIndex, or the new game version has removed this possibility. However even if you succeed you must also remove what's in your teleport endpoints, or the game will be messed-up.

Update: I figured out one way to get there, but I need to tweak it a little. I added a fake teleport endpoint with -6 as the Realityindex. Using a teleporter indeed took me to Enyokudohkiw. Unfortunately, I don't have any valid addresses in that galaxy, so I need to figure out how not to teleport into open space. I'll keep messing with it and update if I get it working.

Things I tried that didn't work:
Changing PlayerStateData/UniverseAddress/RealityIndex
Saving in the Anomaly then changing the Nexus RealityIndex
Jumping through a portal then changing the OtherSideOfPortal RealityIndex

Wiawyr: there's nothing particularly special about the negative universes; it's just for novelty.

In the Editor, chose Warp / Save in the Coordinate menu, this will spawn you outside of the space station.

Unfortunately, the editor uses a dropdown box that doesn't include the negative galaxies. I also have not yet figured out how to change my location such that I load a save and start in the target galaxy; I can only do it through a teleporter so far, and I can't save on the other side of the teleporter.

You should succeed by chosing a positive galaxy nr. in the editor, warp/save in editor, then manually change to a negative realityindex number afterwards, this should spawn you in the new galaxy because all player voxel coordinates are valid for every galaxy (only the names of systems and planets will be different), galaxies are mirrors :)
I did this with positive galaxies only, but not with the negative ones, I see no reason why it should not work, but from my tests I know you must remove all 'old' teleport endpoints.

Oh, I didn't know every galaxy was the same; I thought each one was different. I'll try that. Thanks!

No, galaxies ARE different in local distributions, but a sort of 'mirror system' is used to keep all player coordinates valid in whichever galaxy.

In the early Foundation version of the game I had to load my save, re-orientate quickly my avatar and keep pressing E to enter my ship...at that time there was no death in space...This may not longer be possible now.

I couldn't get much to work, but I finally changed the teleport endpoint to base type and then my ship was next to me when I teleported and I could get into it before I died and then get somewhere else. I couldn't get any other way into the galaxies to work. I'm getting really weird results where galaxies have new names in some places, but old names in other places, like Pohiophalu (-260) in one place and Haffneyrin (252) in other places. I'm starting a text doc to keep track of the different galaxy names and numbers to see if there's a pattern. So far I have the following:

Pohiophalu -260 / Haffneyrin 252
Hiksvadin -261
Dadoxuiaro -262
Fowliudore -263
Utiiqunyuk -264
Esdamquikep -265
Enwarwadip -266
Ceslegest -267 / Zicniijnis

Now that I finally have a way to get into these galaxies, I'll start documenting this over the weekend.

What makes the negative galaxies different from the positive ones?

Gumsk answered your question 4 hours ago. Said nothing particularly special about them, just a novelty

Ah. I missed that without a quote box, thank you.

I'm now in Pequibanu. Galaxy -1. Actually very easily done. Kinda strange, says my bases are here but they are not. The art and text is definitely older. Instead of a gek trader saying "gek joy trading dasbrefafrag" one just told me "gek joy trading opportunity. " also, says "hello friend" instead of "ammr friend". this negatively numbered galaxy set must have been the earlier attempts by the devs.

By the way, all you had to do was to change last player state from "OnFoot" to "InShip"
