Personally due to the flight mechanics being as they are there's no need to add any of that stuff even for immersion. Because of the nature of the flight system having such controls may actually reduce the immersion. At least that is my fear having tried with both a controller and M&K.
It's got to be worth the devs trying it out and seeing what they think about it.
Currently the only way to get HOTAS working with NMS is by using emulator software, such as x360ce.
