Radon/Nitrogen etc. Where can you buy?
I’ve got the harvester bug. I read an old post about buying the gasses from a high wealth planet? Can’t find one that does. Is this possible? What economy is required?

Or was this option removed in an update?

Cheers

Since one of the updates it became impossible to buy nitrogen/radon/sulfurine. Only farming.

Impossible to buy!! When harvesters don’t work that’s a joke!!! You can’t get gas unless you stand next to a harvester doing nothing for an hour!!!

They are all broken, also the ground harvesters. Cross your fingers that this will be fixed some day ...Far, far day away ... In another galaxy :)

Other than mining it from plants...as a secondary element, never seen it offered any other way. But I am never looking for it. Fortunately, you usually don't need much...unless you have a get rich quick project.

If the easy ways to get are not working, best to focus on the buried stuff- bones, tech, etc. There are so many ways to make credits in the game.

In release 1.77 I have bought gas from now traders, but that us semi rare. I have gotten gas product from frigate missions and I have used gas harvesters with no issue.

When using gas harvesters you do not need to stand next to them, you can go do other things in game or log off for awhile.

I have never used auto miners.

I have bought nitrogen on a trade station in a vykeen galaxy once. Did not come across radon for trade only to mine it. Or you can I believe make it with recources in one of those converting machines, not sure boout this one, haven't tried it so far.

never seen gasses for sale anywhere. If I'm not farming it with harvesters, I jump supply depots for gasses and their derivative forms. There is a trick to avoiding the harvester bug. start the harvester, then stay there until it makes 10 or 11 units. gather those units and be on about your business. When you return the next day or whatever, the harvester will be full. It is my suspicion that the "bug" is merely that the harvesters wind up gathering more per fuel load than 250 units, which is all that the hopper holds, and so the game just clears the hopper. If you only have 1 type of gas, you can convert it to another type with oxygen in a medium or large refinery.

There's an easy way to get a lot of those gases in a short time. Go to apropriate planet, scan all the trees and plants to find out which of them contain nitrogen/sulfurine/radon as a secondary element, and then just fly over slowly and shoot them out using positron ejector equipped with 5 or 6 S- or A-grade modules. I can fill up 40 slots of my hauler with those gases less than for 2 hours (depends on planetary flora specific).

You can get the gasses from depots sometimes. Also as trace elements of plant on planet.

You only need one gas, as long as you have a large refiner you can convert one gas to another.

I have seen rock formations made of primary chlorine in the experimental branch. I'm wondering if there could be other gassified rocks as well.

Don't wait for the refiners to finish. Let them refine gases while you go do something else. Let them work for you, not you work for them. Tkwoods is right.

If you raid depots often you can find a lot. If you can find one type of gas you can refine an alternative from it. Though the return rate will not be great, but that can help if you can not find the gas you need on the particular planet type.

Otherwise buy quantities when you see it from trading NPCs or Trade Terminals. You can also sometimes find gases from the plants behind the closed doors (needing an Atlas pass). Or visit a published player farm in the galaxy you are in. It's best to build a simple base and a minimum of three gas harvesters and refine the gases you need. Also drop three harvesters on each gas type planet. Return to collect when you need to.

The only problem with that is they are kinda glitchy. If you go to two different biomes and try to have two different harvesters harvesting two different types of gas when you go back after an hour there won't be any gas there and your fuel will be gone. It seems to work okay if I just do one type of gas at a time even if it's on more than one world. The fact that they are so glitchy is really annoying though for those of us with the capability to make stasis pods and fusion igniters. I don't need money anymore but I still want to make them. Go figure.
