No mans sky not utilizing discrete GPU? X550UI R7 RX460
Recently purchased no mans sky, for my x550UI laptop, which should be more than enough to run it prety smoothly, however after playing for awhile and noticing significantly low fps, I opened task manager and discovered no mans sky wasn't utilizing my discrete gpu (RX460, 0%) and instead was running solely in the integrated (R7 60%-100%) There is an option in the games video settings for setting to a different GPU however it only shows R7, wasn't sure if that's a problem because of the way the switchable GPU works running firstly on R7 and automatically splitting larger tasks to the rx460.

After alot of searching and trying "fixes" I found no help.

Here's what I've done so far,

-Updated BIOS,

-Updated Drivers from amd x550UI chipset recommendations on AMD website

-Clean Installed all AMD drivers in safe mode

-Set profiled application to high performance in radeon settings (which means setting it to run off rx460)

-No option to disable integrated in bios

-Yes, my laptop IS plugged in.

Any help would be appreciated.

Try changing it in the TKGRAPHICSSETTINGS config file (gamedir\Binaries\SETTINGS) and setting it as Read-Only, that got my laptop to force NMS to use the discrete GPU.

All the way at the bottom, AFAIK discrete should be AdapterIndex "0" and AdapterName "AMD Radeon (TM) RX 460 Graphics"

Yes!, that did it! Thank you!..... but now the graphical rainbow issue is back, and recreating the same settings as I did before, as I posted, doesn't fix it....

This seriously makes no freaking sense, back to the other thread I go.
