Weapon Loadout Order

What determines the loadout weapon order? Must I place the weapon modules only under “Technology” in the desired sequence of next / previous selection? I noticed that I can also place the modules under “General.” That’s where I have them now, but my firing sequence is not as I want it.

You might want to google that or search the discussion boards. It is a pretty dense topic. You can install them anywhere they will fit, but there are some advantages to doing it in a specific manner.

If you are early game, don't get too hung up on it...you will probably upgrade your ship and tool many times before you reach the S class level and can find nothing better.

If you mean what controlles the order the weapon toggle order I have never seen that discussed. It might be hard coded. Most players only use one or two weapons.

My experience is that they go in order installed. In this Multitool I dismantled every thing that I didn't want. The mining laser was pre-installed in that position. I installed the terrain manipulator next, then the bolt caster, then the scatter blaster, then the pulse spitter and that's the order they cycle in. Adding the upgrade modules later didn't change the sequence.
