You just have to find planets have a lot of sentinels.
I doubt that the games would force me pretty much at the very beggining to fly into places I can't really get to (I don't even have any tech that is unlocked through quests). plus - 30 mins of searching should spawn at least one, doesn't matter what planet I'm on.
The game is forcing you to find sentinels? At the beginning? That doesn't sound right. And no, open your scanner and look at the bottom left corner, it tells you about the planet, such as type of planet, flora and fauna amounts, sentinel amount, and sentinel "temper". Some planets have no sentinels, and I'm pretty sure the entire starting solar system doesn't have any what-so-ever.
does that no longer work? For the longest if you could find a spawn point and make a building you could trap on in your home as a 'pet'
