HTC Vive control mapping? Anyone figured it all out?

I couldn't find any listing of what the buttons do in the options. Played around for an hour couldn't figure out:
How to dash forward
How to use alt-mode on your weapon
How to search for things on a planet (not the generic scan, but the one that lets you find resources hidden in the ground)

Dash forward = Right Pad Upper quadrant push in
Jetpack = Right pad lower quadrant push in
Weapon mode changes = touch right wrist with left hand while weapon equiped(similar to opening inventory but mirrored)
Not sure about scanning or scanning flora / fauna yet though

Scanning = grip left hand while up against vr headset for scan mode then point at what your scanning with right hand and pull right trigger.

Sweet thanks guys! Yeah scanning is pretty critical I feel like a brief "tutorial" (even of just pop up windows full of text) giving a quick rundown of the VR controls for all users in VR would have been nice lol. But hey I am happy to get VR at all and dont want to seem greedy.

Look at your left hand, in the quick menu.

Open SteamVR. On the three lines in the upper left, r-click and select Devices > Controller Settings. Select No Man's Sky... view/ edit to your hearts content.

Thanks. I found the grabby handles but didn't realize thy did something. I was pretty confused what good would holding onto and incorporeal handle do. Are there any other functional virtual controls besides the throttle and stick? It would be cool if all those buttons and switches did something.

Am I the only one unimpressed by it? Like it was cool for a little while but then it feels I dunno like more a hindrance playing it in VR?

Im using WMR controllers with the Vive mapping. Seems to all work fine if movement is set to teleport but when set to smooth Im walking forward slowly without pressing anything. Anyone know how to fix this?

in the control options you can set the 'dead zone'

Thanks! That was it.

Pushed down on right thumbstick to bring up steam whilst in game.
Settings > Controller Settings > Edit binding for application > NMS > Thumbstick deadzone = 15%
