An Open Letter to Sean Murray and Hello Games...
Dear Sean Murray and the Staff at Hello Games,

My name is Mike "TheZorch", I run the Zorch Central channel on YouTube and I contribute to the Gamers Bay channel. Ever since I learned No Man's Sky was getting VR support I immediately began advertising in the Gamers Bay social media community on MeWe that I would be streaming your game in VR on launch day. I was looking forward to it, my meager list of subs were looking forward to it, and the owner of Gamers Bay was looking forward it to. However, I cannot get No Man's Sky to work with Windows Mixed Reality. I use that headset to play Elite Dangerous and stream the game on my channel. I've tried various fixes, none of them work. So, now I'm going to be live streaming your game without VR. I'm not L Plays or CobraTV, I don't have a huge following but I would like to have done this but now I can't.

Though WMR may not have been the biggest commercial success people are still buying them because of their lower price, lower system requirements, and the fact you don't have to install tracking devices on the wall to use the headset. Inside-Out tracking is the direction most of the VR industry is headed. HTC's new upcoming Cosmos headset uses inside-out tracking and Oculus ditched the external tracking for the Rift S.

Supporting multiple VR headset APIs all at once can be daunting, thus you may want to consider looking at the OpenXR API. The Khronos Group, the same people who developed Vulkan, developed this universal AR/VR API. Rather than having to support the APIs for every possible headset this is a unified API that is supported by multiple competing headsets. AMD, Microsoft, Valve, HTC, Oculus, Nvidia, Tobii, Mozilla, Google, Epic Games and Unity just to name a few all now support this API. Adding OpenXR support to No Man's Sky will mean anyone can play your game in VR regardless what headset they're using. Think about it.

Here is the OpenXR URL for reference: http://www.khronos.org/openxr

Sincerely,

Mike "TheZorch"
Owner of the Zorch Central Channel
Partner with the Gamers Bay Channel

I don't think he's ever read steam forums.
Try sending it by email?

Agree, the Steam discussion boards are probably literally the last place to post something that you want the devs to see..

Posting it literally anywhere else would have more success.

He's just promoting. There are bigger YouTubers that shared feedback without feeling the need to post their channels in some way five times.

Wow, shameless promotion of a small and useless channel. Major ego thinking you matter at all to the collective though.

Why post this here? It's pointless, unless you want attention and to boast.
