Exocraft summoning station no longer works
I have 3 bases. One has all 5 Exocraft geopads built on it, along with an exocraft summoning station.

I have another base on the same planet, but VERY far away from the base with all the geobays and the summoning station on it. At this second base, on the same planet. I can still call any of my exocraft just fine.

Now, if I teleport from the space station to my 3rd base (I have to go to the space station because thanks to this new electricity requirement my bases teleporter does not work yet) that has ONLY the exocraft summoning station built, I can NOT summon ANY of my exocraft.

It just says "Can not summon exocraft, no exocraft summoning station on planet" or somthing similar, when in fact I DO have the exocraft summoning station built. I even tried deleting it and re-building it, still did not work.

Do we now HAVE to have ALL the geobays, AND the exocraft summoning station on a planet to summon exocrafts?

Kind of sucks if that is the case. I really liked the ability to just carry around enough materials to build a Base Computer and the exocraft summoning station to explore planets I did not want to build a full base on, but just wanted to have my exocrafts to use to explore.

Then, when done exploring, I'd just delete the Exocraft summoning station and get all the materials back, then just delete the Base Computer and move on. Since I have a frigate in my freighter fleet that supplies me with Chromatic Metal, I ALWAYS have enough to build base computers.

Anyone else having trouble summoning exocraft with just having a exocraft summoning station?

Pretty sure you have to spawn in Exocraft to a new system using their respective bays first. Once they exist again, then the summoning station will let you respawn them anywhere on the planet (normally, respawning can only occur within 750 units of an Exocraft's current position if the station is not built).

EDIT: Also, you don't need to establish a base to place down Exocraft modules. In fact, they even refund all materials when demolished, last time I checked (pre-Beyond).

Yup, couldn’t find that screen to summon the exos as well. That new electricity BS is disgusting TBH!!! Other than that (aside of the glitches of course) it’s a solid update...

I seriously hope this is a bug of some sort.

I've been playing this since day one and we have NEVER had to have the geobays in the system we wanted to summon them, just needed to have the geobay built somewhere in the same GALAXY, anywhere.

Then, only the exocraft summoning station needed to be built. Worked just fine like that for the past 2000 hours of my game.

If they have made it necessary to have geobays in EVERY system you want to use exocraft in, plus the ridiculous need now for electricity, then they really are trying to make Normal mode more of a torture than it needs to be.

I am really not liking these new "features" one bit.

And oh yeah, half of all of my landing pads are now mysteriously missing from all of my bases.

Just tried building a base computer on another planet in the SAME system as where I have a base with all geobays built on a different planet.

So, built a exocraft summoning station at this "test" base and this is what happens:

This is in Normal Mode, by the way.

I do not think this is the intended behavior, and if it is a new "feature" of the Beyond update, then they are really turning this from the relaxing "chill" game I fell in love with into some kind of pseudo-survival-grind-fest.

Main bug I had was that when I left my Exocraft and popped into a structure my exocraft had vanished when I exited. I was just lucky my base was only a few minutes walk away.

I submitted a ticket to Hello Games, with a copy of the screenshot.

Hopefully it is a legitimate bug and NOT the intended affect.

I'm sure they are really over-loaded right now with numerous bug reports, but if anyone is experiencing this particular bug, please DO submit a bug report.

The more people report it, the more likely it is to catch their attention.

I'm having the same bug as well. Thanks for the link. I have followed your advice and submitted a bug report.

Yea it looks to be more of a bug than anything, I was able to summon my craft on one planet with no base and ONLY the Exo Summoning Station but on another planet in the same system with a base on it, the Exo Summoning Station doesn't work. I have to build the Geo Bays.

I ran into the same problem on one planet, but not another, so I did some testing. If you build the summoning station before you build the base, then it'll keep working once the base is build. If you build the base first, then it doesn't work.

Hey guys, I have a workaround for you.

I've found that the Exocraft Summoning Station does not work if it is placed inside the limits of an existing base.

So EITHER

1: Place the summoning station before you place the base, as others have suggested.

2: Go far away from your base and place the summoning station. I have confirmed twice now that this method will allow you to summon all exocraft you own.

Hey, thanks for the suggestions! I appreciates it very much :)

Since all of my bases were built pre-beyond, I'm kind of stuck with them, as some were time consuming to build.

Perhaps I'll try and remove the summoning station and re-locate if on the other side of the planet with a beacon (So I remember where it's at) and THEN build just a single new Base Computer beside it for the purpose of getting the materials back if I decide later to move my base to another system.

I hate the idea of not getting materials back when these things are deleted or get left behind.
Unless they changed how things work in beyond, unless there is a Base Computer built nearby, you don't get any materials back if you delete the summoning station.

I don't "own" my exocraft anymore...have not yet figured out what I need to do to get them back....too busy trying to get me Steam Controller to work!

Yeah i'm not a fan of the electricity system myself either, I mean if you have a teleporter you can teleport from space station to a base if it runs out of power, but you need to refuel it to go back. It also takes way to many resources to power that reactor even for short periods.

I had this happen once.

I moved my base, built the Exocraft summoning station, like I always do and realized that in the process of tearing down one of my old bases, I forgot to re-build the geo-bays.

All you have to do is re-build the exocraft geobays at any of your bases. You have to have a geo-bay for each of the exocraft built at a base and then you "own" them.
