Vulkan is now required
So the Beyond update just made the game unplayable for me, since my card is on the older side and doesn't support Vulkan. The minimum requirements haven't been updated in years, but I'm surprised no one is talking about this.

Instead of Vulkan only being supported, it is now the ONLY option to play the game. No Vulkan, no game.

It has been said 'technology sometimes fly too fast for normal human beings [....]' this is true, even for me 😁

Technically they added Intergated Intel support, (A.K.A. no dedicated GPU) but that's obviously not ideal. What is your hardware?

There are Vulkan drivers, but I didn't seem to have to download any new drivers to get the game to work; I'm using a GTX 1070. I can't seem to find what the actual requirements for Vulkan are, other than possibly the list of supported cards when you go to the download driver page on Nvidia.

Send a notice to Zendesk, if enough people do so, Hello Games might notice and add an OpenGL option back to the game, or at least remember to update the requirements page on Steam and make it easy to shift back to an older version for people who bought the game earlier.

Just curious, what GPU do you have?

My graphic card is not supported by vulcan. Was working before. Now good bye no mans sky.

Yeah and I just bought the game. Not working on my system anymore, vulkan error and my card does not support it either. Nice.

I think the gtx1070 is kind of the minimum for nms now, I use it too with 431.60 drivers and works fine for now with oculus cv1. Im happy traveler :)

Vulkan is for AMD processors and cards. You don't need Vulkan for anything if you have non-AMD hardware.

Wrong
Vulkan works with NVIDIA and AMD GPUs as long as the GPU is within a certain age, which i detailed above.

They may implement the OpenGL switch in the next patches, who knows. If there is more people like OP, the chances are higher.
