Impressions on a GTX 1060 (6GB) with Rift S (UPDATED)
**PLEASE NOTE (See below)

(Video Coming soon)

****OK the Performance tweaks found in the forums worked for me, the game is now playable.
It looks OK on the lowest settings and at least its running smoother now.

If you have a GTX 1060 and a Rift S, try these Graphic tweaks as well:
Turn V-Sync off in your GPU settings.
Right Click NMS.exe and in Properties select compatibility, change High DPI settings to application control.
In the Games Options:
Resolution 480x640
V-Sync off
Max FPS 80
Motion Bur and Vignette Off.

My original Post:
Sadly, NMS is unplayable on my GTX 1060 on the lowest settings. The game stutters when any terrain is being generated and this is very noticeable when flying. The stutter when flying over terrain causes the Rift S to lose tracking which in turn makes you lose control of the ship.
BUT.....The game does run fine, and looks OK when stationary :(

☆ MY PC Specs:
☆ Oculus Rift S
☆ GeForce GTX 1060
☆ Windows 10, 64 bit
☆ Intel Core i7-3770
☆ 16.0GB Ram

**Getting some troll comments about my GFX card so..... I have had this card for nearly 2 years, I have over 600+ VR games on Steam and Oculus and I do daily VR videos.
I've not had any issues with other games with this card apart from 'The Forest VR'
I play a lot of demanding VR games just fine. Dirt Rally 2 in VR ran OK.
I'm trying to offer advice here not debate my system.

Very true but for VR to work well would require a better graphics card along side a better cpu.

Did you really just complain about bad performance while using VR with a GTX 1060????

That machine is getting a bit long in the tooth for VR in this title, in my opinion. It's not exactly known for running smoothly without VR.

I haven't tried the Rift with this new update though I must admit.

I've had a GTX 1060 for VR for 2 years, over 600 VR games and no issues with any other? So whats your point?

You know he's playing in VR with that GPU? I watch a streamer on the 2nd monitor and he's playing with that same GPU totally fine.
Btw thx for caring about my sack. No idea what's wrong in your head that you instant started with the swearing.

My 1060 6GB doesn't have a problem. There are other issues (weapons pointing behind me), but graphics are running smooth at 1080.

I don't get how my 1050 ti is running this game. It does stutter occationally but I can still play it pretty smoothly. It runs a lot better than I expected to be honest.

Works perfect my friend!

NMS is not very well optimized for VR, unfortunately. I'm running a PC I built with RTX2080ti + i7-9700K + 32Gb RAM and Oculus Rift S and even at medium settings I get frame drops once in a while.

@Paradise Decay
Did you have a chance to make a video playing NMS in VR then?

Thanks :)
