SAVE EDITOR - Bannable?

Hi guys,

Was thinking of downloading a save editor to just give me some of the things i've needed (already completed the game loads on multiple saves)

Just wondering if using this can get me banned?????

Save editors have not been a problem in the past since the game is still, essentially, a single-player experience from an economic standpoint.

So no, they aren't banning for them, and I don't see that changing.

it's not an issue now, probably wont be later.

if an issue arises then im sure they'll think about addressing it.

this is not a competitive game at all there's little reason to care what someone else does with their save.

No, it is unlikely. Be careful using it though. It can ruin your game. Much of the fun of the game is just seeking and acquiring stuff so removing that challenge means you have very little left to do.

About the only "competitive" thing being added is possible ship racing. In theory, using the save game editor could be cheating but not sure how.

It sounds like it will be similar to the famous exocraft racing which almost no one does. It just records your time over a set course and someone can try to beat it. I am sure there will be some cranky person ticked off because some one beats their unbeatable time...and blames it on save game editor cheating or some other excuse.

This. The storage capacity of the storage containers is ridiculous. You've got this amazing technology and can fly between star systems and even galaxies, but you can't fit more than 1k Frost Crystals in a storage slot in a big ass cube? Gimme a break. Mine hold 10k of each resource and 1k of stuff like Vortex Cubes per slot. Really frees up space in ships and freighter. I shouldn't have to have 3 48 slot haulers to accommodate all of the stuff I gather while I explore. And base building materials are easily gathered and stored for future bases. I hope Beyond has increased storage. Otherwise, I'll continue to mod my storage containers to my own liking.

I actually have a theory they might introduce some sort of endless storage like in Minecraft. If bases can be owned by multiple people and their doing industry kind of update / features it almost makes sense they have some sort of real storage system then instead this sort of virtual system they use now.

Some of us in the community just have a gripe with them because as Beyond hits and a bit more focus goes toward multiplayer we're gonna lean a bit toward competetive play and don't want some 13 year old showing up with best in slot for everything because "mE cAn'T pLaY bEcAuSe JoB", which'll be absurd and annoying. So we're hoping HG can find a way to at least restrict them.

I don't see why it would and I'm not aware of anyone being banned for it up to this point. I suppose the question that pops to my mind first is whether goatfungus' editor will still work after the Beyond update. He hasn't done an update since December-ish and major updates almost always break it.

no. it wont get you banned. This is at its core a single player game. play it your way. its not competitive.

why would it ever be competitive? what would you compete over? resources are infinite, you can go offline/ online at a button flip....... you can't really compete at all. if someone tried to pvp me id just flick the friends only button and not be bothered. simple.
