Can we get some kind of ship management system?
Its really annoying to get rid of ships right now, only way to get rid of them is to exchange them to other ships , would be nice if we could sell the current ships that we do not want to keep for like half the price they go for, or trade them with players in the upcoming update. Please.

Common request, and yes I agree. Maybe abandon them on a planet at a total loss, or sell to an NPC at 1/4 market value. And of course, trade or sell outright to another player in a way similar to what we have now.

And if not trading, have a warning message about summoning another ship first so players don't strand themselves somewhere without a ship.

Next time you do this, try summoning your freighter before you board it again.

Sarcasm?

I may be wrong, but I believe they're referencing a feature where "abandoned" or lost ships respawn on the freighter once its summoned.

Get that, but I was under the impression that the OP was asking about permanently removing a ship from their fleet, which at the moment can't be done in game.

yeah, you can't just leave a ship on a planet and it's abandoned. It will just show up in your freighter. There is no current way to abandon a ship -- you can only trade them. Beyond might have an answer to this but I doubt it.

Quick question, if the launch thruster and pulse engine are both damaged will that ship spawn on a freighter after a reload or freighter summon?

Nevermind, doesn't matter can't get rid of it without trading it.

The only way is to go to an affluent type economy and sit on the dock waiting with cash in hand.

Yup, that's right. You can't lose ships by parking them and wandering off, and I'm encouraging OP to find out. No sarcasm intended.

Currently your only answer to 'delete' a ship from your fleet is a save game editor.
With six ships available to use, if you do not want a ship simply exchange one with a ship you do not want or use much. There is no way in game to have an infinite ship collection. That may change of course in a future update.

If you have reached the maximum of six ships in your freighter then you can still have visiting NPC ships land on your freighter in a busy system.

First call your freighter. Take a ship and land on a planet. Then call down as many ships as you want to the surface of the planet. Then hop in the ship you want to explore the current system with and return to your 'empty' freighter. At some point NPC ships may or may not land in the temporarily vacant spaces of your freighter.

You should be able to trade with or even exchange/buy the ships if you like the look of one.

The only way to delete a ship currently is use a third party MOD. Using mods it is possible to 'restore' a ship from a previously backed up save.

No offense to OP, but there is a bit of humor that another poster thread wants unlimited ships. I agree that six is too many...maybe three would be a better number.

There should be a way to discard ships. My preference would be a nice cut scene where you launch the unmanned ship into a gravity well from the freighter and watch it burn up during re-entry. Maybe be able to switch from freighter view to third person of the ship.

In the HG survey during Beyond development, a lot of folks asked for ways to sell or discard unwanted ships. Maybe that will be a feature in the 3rd element.

2 reasons why it's not in the game IMO:
Yes, it would be nice if you could sell ships or scrap them right away, but buying or trading ships in for other ones is the last step you will always carry out, so I understand the devs to think it's a vain feature (reason 1).
And if you could sell them: who would buy them from you? At which price? Can you stay without a ship in this game? No. I don't think the devs want big polemics about it (reason 2).

I just trade them for C class haulers and use them as extra inventory space in my freighter I still think you should be able to sell them though. After I got my 6 ships I would still randomly find crashed ships. I should be able to repair them and bring them to the space station and sell it.

You could as well trade your repaired ship in for a better one, and repeat until you have 6 best ships of any type. All you miss is some real cash growth, but the devs don't want too many cash fonts for you apparently.

I can see a cut scene where a Gek trader tells you he can make it disappear for a price. I don't see a thing in the world wrong with that.
