Different Base Materials?
All I have is wood right now, i'm thinking of settling down in the one planet system i'm currently in.

use Blueprint Analyzer to gain access to other materials and structures.
BonPadre Jul 11, 2019 @ 2:12am
And to do that, you need to dig the Buried Technology Module with terrain manipulator.

When you unlock parts, new ones will add to the list.

aight thanks!

Something to note about the blueprint analyzer: it unlocks additional parts based on the ones you unlocked. For example, if you unlock a decoration, a new decoration will replace that in the list. If you want to focus on new construction parts, then focus on unlocking other construction parts.

You'll eventually get a lot of new things to work with, like concrete, steel, prefab structures, glass, and more.

With over 50 bases built, wood is actually one of my favorite types to work with. Carbon is really easy to obtain. The only downside is you cannot add the transaction stations to the individual pieces and the domes work best if you are going to do farming.

I usually build a couple of round rooms to take care of farming.

The give criteria on the BP analyzer is not ideal...so you have to go a long time before you get complete sets of anything. Takes forever to get the short wood walls, both sets of stair types, and other nice additions.

dafuq?

also I managed to research enough stuff for the base buildings that need pure ferrite, which to my luck is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ everywhere.

Once you unlock the medium or large refiners and oxygen harvesters, base building becomes a lot easier. You can do some refinery magic to basically make building materials out of nothing! I feel it's not as boring as running around lasering rocks all day.

aight, I have the large refiner on my freighter, might bring it down once I expand but how can one get the oxygen harvester? and youre making it sound like I can make anything from oxygen, is that true? lol

I suggest making many refiners. I have a 3x3 room with 7 medium refiners around the edge. This lets me make a lot of stuff really quick. I also set up 5 oxygen harvesters near the refiners.

Some quick notes:
  • Oxygen + ferrite dust = rusted metal. Rusted metal can be refined into twice as much dust.
  • Oxygen + carbon/condensed carbon = more condensed carbon. 6x as much. You can use this to help power the harvesters, too.
  • Condensed carbon + pure/magnetized ferrite = more mag ferrite.
  • Magnetized ferrite can be refined into twice as much pure ferrite.
There's tons of other combos, but by simply adding oxygen, carbon, or ferrite to other materials, you can end up with a lot more than you started with.

i will keep this in mind, thanks! also can the corridor base part connect to the wall base parts? also how can i get an oxygen harvester? also what about medium refiners? for some reason after the portable refiners i immediately got the recipe for the large refiner

Yes, you can directly connect a wall to a corridor, and it will make a door on the wall as well. Then you just continue building out from that.

I think I got the harvester and medium refiner from the base quests. They have you build specialist terminals and find specialists in space stations. Once you have those, they'll send you on other quests that unlock a bunch of nice things.

I just wish I remembered how it all started...

alright then, thanks!

also how can I get the blueprint for the harvester?
Suzaku Jul 11, 2019 @ 11:46pm
I'm pretty sure I got it from the base quests as well.
