Hooray for Google!
from gamepedia.
>When a base is deleted via the Base Computer, any raw materials used in its construction will be retrievable from the Base Salvage Capsule.
>It can be crafted on a freighter or inside a base.
>It is not needed prior to deleting an old base in order for the materials to be refunded, it simply allows the player to retrieve the refunded materials.
And later you rebuild the base in the new location, lol.
ps.
But you can have many bases, 5 per planet.
So If you think you need to delete it to build new base, not necessary.
What about a base setup on freighter? If you trade freighters does the old base mat's go into the salvage capsule?
I may want to experiment.!!!
In my case, I had given up on resurrecting my pre-Next base, and got the mission to do that right after I placed a circular room. Since I had barely got started, decided to delete it.
Not sure if they have worked the "still shows up" bug, but you can functionally delete a base. Unless you have a real good reason, usually better to leave it and just build a new base.
