How do I switch primary weapons?
I tried googling it, but all I found is how to change the weapon you are holdings features not the entire weapon.
I bought a mining laser rifle with a weapon sub that takes ammo
What I'm trying to do is switch back to my basic mining laser you get from the start so I can get copper and stuff like that.

You only get one multitool, and when you accept another one it's in trade, not as an additional weapon. So you can't go back to the one you had before, unless you have a recent save that was done before you swapped for the new multitool.

I always make sure that I have a very recent save just before swapping to a new weapon, in case I have a case of buyer's remorse and want to go back to what I had before. Then I just 'reload current' and I'm back where I was.

G key switches between what is on the weapon (mining laser/boltcaster/terrain manipulator/etc). However, your basic mining laser isn't capable of mining copper, only a terrain manipulator can do that.

Hit ESC to get to the game menu then tab over until you find game controlled. You will find the current setting there and you can change it to something else if you wish.

Can you only have one weapon at a time or can you hold onto many at once?
