Fusion ignitors. 1x has a value of 15.6 million, not that you ever get face value for it.

Now honnestly, I personally feel the crafting is is pretty lame in game, unless indeed you are doing the high end stuff like Fusion Ignitors and Stasis device (but you need to get all BP from manufacturing centers and such)

I have much more fun going after Ancient bones and Salvageable scrap.
That way I feel like I'm really playing an exploration game and not farming simulator in space

Ancient bones are more fun, because a site may contain a decent amount of them, as opposed to 1 piece only for Salvageable scrap.

If you have already access to your exocrafts and all S class protection modules for hazards, why not find an extreme planet with storms and go after storm crystals ? That's at least more fun than the crafting.

Those crystals can sometimes comes in blobs of 3. though 2 and single are more often seen I think ?
At the price they are, you can really collect what 20-30 very quickly on a nice planet that has storms every 5 minutes :steamhappy:

Now if you are really after crafting, that's indeed living glass if you grow, that is the best way to do that.
Now if you have enough fun moving out of your base, simply go collect them on planets and craft whatever you feel like.
For that, liquid explosive is probably the better.

But hey, to each it's own I guess.

Yeah I know what you mean! I love building so this is why I am making a pretty big farm with all kinds of plants, then I will be crafting! I have already tried ancient bones and I got bored of them xD

When I was making fusion ignitors, I had little farms on specific biome planets. The farm was a couple of atmosphere harvesters, a teleport gate, and a field of biome specific plants. The rocks (herox etc) I usually got from pirate drops. I can't remember the whole routine now but the intermediate crafts, like circuit boards and liquid explosive sell well as BonPadre says.

Most of the fun was collecting the recipes and knocking off the factories. In total I've made maybe 40 fusion ignitors or so, 25 of which sit in my inventory as pirate bait and emergency cash, and a handful I gave away to randoms who wanted one. It was fun setting up the parts for all this, but there's nothing to do with the product afterwards. There's 390 mil worth of this tat sat in my inventory, and I still have the same amount in ready cash that I just can't spend.
Now, if we could use the ignitors in a more complicated and elaborate ship building system, that could be fun... and horrendously hard to balance...

So much this...
NMS has all set up for a great manufacturing system and yet...

I know nothing of mod potential in NMS. Is it even possible to link crafted items to the current ship parts to create a new ship that way? Make a new base part like the landing pad that looks to the game like a crashed ship site, where the "craft" decides the 'crash'?

I play all my games vanilla flavor, so I'm really the absolute worst to answer you about modding questions lol
Raiding depots will often give you high value loot when starting out.

The problem with crafting is it takes some time to get all the BPs to do something like fusion ignitors. I usually take a more diverse approach. I will take advantage of things I can craft currently with my farm, but the big money is in exploring.

Once you upgrade your scanner it is pretty common to get $1million or more from each planet just scanning flora and fauna. When you run into something nice, like ancient bones or storm crystals, you can roll up credits really quick. I always carry the mats to pick up additional slots as I travel around the planet.

Another advantage to exploring is you can also pick up a new slot at the station in each system you go to. I find the slots to be better utility than credits in the early game.

The other advantage of exploring is you can take missions in the station before you head out and often complete those in the ordinary course of your work on planet.

At least in my experience, I am usually set for funding by 50 hours in.

As far as nanites, the base building missions provide good quantitites as well as the Atlas path.

Which upgrades are these?

Check the space station MT vendor and only purchase “S” class scanner upgrades

Layout your multitool so that you have 3 “S” scanner upgrades connected to your scanner. A corner spot works great

What BonPadre said. Ancient Bones and Salvagable Scrap, along with storm crystals, got me past 100 million stupid fast. Easy once you expand your inventories.

I sort of hate the crafting we currently have. Also the base building requirements are pretty steep material wise. I made my money by trading commodities between the systems that needed them. It is a very simple economy loop and you can check the wiki and other sites on how to get extremely rich without farming one single thing in the game. It is comprised of buying A at Y economy and then selling it all at Z economy. Then buying all of B at Z economy and selling it at Y economy, etc. I made over 100 million doing this. After that it became boring but I know I can go back to it and make money.

Farming use to be fun but the requirements for it were nerfed to the moon and it just isn't fun for me anymore. I don't farm for credits anymore rather I farm just b/c the base structures for farms look really cool. I mainly build bases and explore the galaxies. I love the extreme planets and crazy mixtures of environments. Far more than we use to have. I do miss some of the crazy color schemes we use to have and those planets with the crazy red grass and red atmospheres. But all that grass use to glitch on my system so I think I know why they changed it.
