rotate base computer
I've used the save editor to move my base computer, is there something I can edit in the json editor to change it's rotation without moving it again?

you have a better chance of rotating the object that you are placing down (you know the one you used to move the base computer with). Editing your base computer's rotation in the JSON WILL rotate your entire base.

That would actually come in handy. I've got one base on the edge of a mountain with some landing pads hanging off the edge below the main level. If I wanted to copy this base to another mountain somewhere else, being able to rotate the whole thing would be convenient.

Just keep in mind that you are dealing with Vectors (normalized) for the "Up" and "At" variables at the "Position". These values determine scale and rotation. To do this properly, you will have to calculate using a 3D Rotation Matrix.

Unless you understand how that works, it is likely easier to just keep in mind how your base is built relative to the Base Computer. Make a backup, then you place a new Base Computer in a matching location and orientation elsewhere and save. In the JSON you then copy all the base data to the new base, replacing the Base Computer ("BASE_FLAG") with the new one. Check the result in-game and if the result is not right, reload your backup and try again, adjusting your location/orientation for the BC. This saves you from having to do the math.

How did you do that...???
The Save Editor will let you swap a base computer with another object l think the signal beacon or better another computer base station All you have to do is place your swapping object into the position you want. Then restore your base as before effectively swapping it over. Save editior notes online should explain how to restore a base. You MUST back up your entire game save and Bases(s) so if something doesn't work as intended you can restore everything as it was.

The other way is more fiddly perhaps but accurate by changing one of the X,Y,Z coordinates of the base computer object itself. To do that edit the JSON file from within the Save Editor. Again back up your game folder before doing this. Remember that the coordinates have many decimal places because of the scale of the game. SO changing just a small number may place or rotate the object a great distance. Start small for accuracy.
