Mineral Extraction
So im trying to set up a new base to extract minerals (evidently things have changed where the mineral extractors are no longer placed on the actual mineral like they used to be last time i played) and i found a S class site. problem is its underwater. I want to know if this is a issue before i move my base here. can you extract minerals from a site if its underwater? theres also power 300m away from it. how big is the base claim bubble?

Extractors and silos work fine under water. There are many tips on how to extend your base if needed, such as when you hit the 300 U limit, place something small every 50 U's till you can reach your destination (up to 1000 U). HTH

If you surveyed first you can easily place a marker ('E') at the first site and move towards the second site and when between the two (perfectly at 150u in your case), place your Base Computer. There's a 300u radius around the Base Computer you can build in without any extension tricks. I've built an EM Generator under water and a mineral extractor for... something underwater. Both work fine. You can run supply pipes quite a distance to make recovery more convenient. I think it's about 200u for supply pipes but I'm not 100% on that.

OH i didnt know its a dynamic bubble. thanks for that. Also thanks for the heads up. now i get to move my whole base.

thanks alot boot. i appreciate both of your help

Parafinium hotspot in my survival game. These are connected to a pair of silos which are next to a SRT (all under water) that leads up to a floating island. Wires along the ocean floor powered by an S EM generator.

If you don't want to build underwater, place walls until you reach the surface, and build what you need there, seemingly floating on the water, lol.

You can easily stretch the 300u limit to 1000u, with the trick of building something every 50u, I usually use half arch wooden walls, simple and cheap.
Sometimes that trick doesn't work, thinks it's a bug, saving and restarting the game solves it.

Cables and pipelines have a maximum length of 200u, but just click them into something, and make a bend, and move on.

Nice!

Didn't build mine for looks, purely functional. Though now I may go back and tweak it a bit, if you don't mind me stealing your idea...

No problem, glad i can help make things nicer.
Built on the old slimey way before, but figured maybe you could fix it a little more nicely, and then when they changed how the hot spot works, I figured it would be best to build tight, and with several floors, because the power is now concentrated in the middle of the hot spot.

thanks everyone. got a S class copper deposit, with 3 extractors now being powered by a single generator from a B class site on the other side of the base. everything is run up to the base for easy collection. its already produced its cost easily

They work fine underwater, but also, you can build a platform ABOVE the water and place them there, and they still function.

I've got a base where all 4 resources and the EM are underwater. The biggest problem I've had is finding them again. Sometimes it's useful to build a foundation up to sea level and put something up top so you can see it from farther away.

During my build I put down a coloured Beacon or used my temporary marker post, to view it on the map. If you have found the resource previously, then a quick re-scan should pop up the resource icon found previously, though it can be buggy.

Yeah, the resource scans only stay for that session, unfortunately. I tried putting lights up, but they aren't loading far enough away to be useful. I suppose I should work on the object load distance.

Sorry, just noticed you said beacon, not light.
