Check your Vulkan Runtimes
I just checked mine in C:\Program Files (x86)\VulkanRT\ and it turns out im on vulkan 1.0.65.1 which was released back in 2017. Vulkan is now upto version 1.1.114.0 I cant imagine how many updates i missed out on :O i wonder if it will fix my draw distance? probably hoping abit too much but here goes nothing. BTW i have a 9900k 2080ti so i expected with all the latest hardware drivers vulkan would be covered but i guess not.

I just gave it a 5 minute test and it seems to have made my game look better it seems to have fixed an issue i was having with the atmosphere of planets being super imposed over space stations like they were transparent, i also saw some new stuff happening when i was leaving the atmosphere. I noticed some trees at a higher distance than i normally expect to see but it wasnt as far as i was hoping for.

The latest AMD and NVIDIA driver packages both have Vulkan 1.1 included. Everyone running NMS should be on the latest driver version of their GPU for that reason.

Vulkan for NMS is intalled in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\No Man's Sky\Binaries. I'm up to date with NMS and the vulkan-1.dll file there shows 1.0.1111.2222.Dev Build

You'll probably find that version there yourself. In Windows\System32 and Windows\SysWOW64, I'm seeing 1.1.97.0. These may have been installed with the NVidia driver and are probably the WHQL-certified stable production versions.

This. Just install your latest gpu driver to get the latest Vulkan drivers. It's that simple. Like he said, all of you should have the latest drivers since they are actually decent as well.

Dont have any additional Runtimes installed of Vulkan to be able to run NMS (or Stationeers, who's uses Vulkan recently too)

Maybe its needed for VR, dunno, but for my plain simple single screen 1060GtX setup, with win10, no extra runtime libraries where need, nor where installed.

Not running the latest version of Vulkan will negatively impact your overall performance in NMS. If your GPU supports the most recent driver update, then you should most definitely download and install it.

I had been running with an NVIDIA package from last year prior to BEYOND being released since it ran better with the older version of NMS. But now with BEYOND, I installed the latest version for my 1080ti on day one of the latest NVIDIA driver update.
