"Korvax Convergence Cube" usage?

Hey,
different sources in the internet are saying, you can use the "Korvax Convergence Cube" for increase your Korvax-Standing by 3.
All i can gift them tho, is a "Korvax Casing".

Is there any kind of a trick im missing or is that simply not the case anymore? =)

I think NPCs only sometimes accept the "higher-tier" gifts.
Can't remember though.

Or it's used in interactions where the NPC asks you for stuff.

I've never seen using a cube for gifting, but you can use one in the scientist quest.

You also can turn them in sometimes at the Anomaly. But other than that I cash them in.

You also need 2 cubes if you want to make yourself a tier 3 translator

And since i got the T3 translator im prolly commiting to cash them^-^

The faction NPCs used to take higher tier gifts, though i've tried lately and they don't seem to want them anymore. May have been nurfed im guessing. Anyone else able to confirm my thoughts?

never had to use a cube outside of quest and building the translator.

Some obelisk can ask for a high-tier gift. NPCs can request one too. Recently I could give a dagger to a Vykken and I received a reward and some faction increase.
