I am looking for a water planet any tips on system descriptions when on the galaxy map or what they scan like from a distance?
I will just fly around from system to system if needed but I would rather not just blind jump 100 systems if there is some form hint on the location.

On the galaxy map, next to the system details under the system name it'll say "// x // x // water" if it has a planet with oceans. Not sure about entirely ocean planets. But that should narrow the search.

Look for systems which have "water" in their description when looking at them on the galaxy map. This usually indicates, well, water. The corresponding planets will be aproximately half water/half landmass, which you can spot from afar.

I have found maybe two almost fully water worlds. Found 3 paradise planets with land and sea. I would like an entire ocean planet for my submarine.

If I may, there is a Questline that will take you to a water planet, introducing you to Aquatic Bases, etc. (the name of the questline escapes me at the moment (Dreams Of The Deep?), perhaps another helpful Traveller will be along to fill in the blank soon..).
Unless something changed in the BEYOND update, you will be guided towards a water planet and have to do a few Missions on it, then you can build Aquatic Bases - and you will have more water than you know what to do with lol

Where would you land if there was no landmass?

If you can tell me how to share coordınates in this game, i can give you what I just found, litterally 20 minutes ago... %80 Water... I even named it "Almost Water World"

Edit: Come to think of it, may be you can join my game while I'm there?

I haven't been to any water world's yet. Is having an underwater base just cool aesthetically speaking, or are there special advantages?

You don't need any toilets anymore.
Other than that it's just pure flavour. But a very nice one.
