the way it works is:
turn on analysis visor.
switch over to survey mode. btw: you have to have purchase the survey mode tech from the multi tool merchant in the nexus and installed it or else you will not get the option to switch over to it.
your vision will switch from the usually blue hue to a red hue and a reticul that tells you whether you should go left, right or center and how far it is.
once you walk to the node it will mark it. you can tag it so you can see it outside of the visor.
place your industrial devices here.
additional: the node locations are far appart and only one can be found. the nearest one is th eone that it directs you to and it will be any of the 3 types. electrical, gas, or mineral. mineral seems to be the most common. so you basically have to run around in big ship jumps and try to fine the right node type you are looking for.
