[Gamepad] still not working "hold X" to set a marker
Please, stop being so dedicated to VR, and remember there are players that uses gamepads, and keyboard/mouse to play.

Glad its not just me, this seemed like a major bug in the last update and I was wondering if I broke it, I believe I did switch to instant confirm first and then it stopped working.

Yup still broken. Very Annoying not being able to set waypoints. Works great in VR though....

Same here. I switch on the keyboard if I want to mark something, but's it's annoying

Load steam
Right click no mans sky in your game list
Select edit steam controller configuration
Select the tab On Foot
Click the Right hand box along the bottom
Click the X text box
Click multi button on
Select Reload ,Place custom marker, Interact and Tag marker
Then back,back.back and done.

That configuration came as default. Even if You/I change it, doesn't work.

change your controller profile to 360, the xbox one gamepad profile is missing that option completely.

Okay, I was wondering why it worked for me when everyone said it was broken. It sees mine as a360 controller. I have endless problems with the left trigger not working correctly on my ship though. It's perfect on foot, but when flying it just sort of works when it wants to... seems to be a bit goofy when trying to delete base components too.

Yeah...This is another "DUH" feature that HG managed to totally miss in their "So-called" internal testing before the public launch.

And just like so many other game breaking bugs that remain unaddressed nearly 2 weeks later, HG seems content to spend all their time working on VR despite that being a mode that less than a double digit percentage of the entire player base is remotely interested in right now.

Yeah...I double checked that and I was already setup that way. When I launch the game the "CONFIG LOADER pops up saying I am using "The Official Configuraion" with a graphic of an Xbox controller in the box.

I am using an Elite Controller and the "X" button does not work for tagging anything shown in the Visor. Hasn't since BEYOND dropped.

Aparently it has problems recognizing Xbox One controllers, so Xbox 360 are right.
Maybe this arised from the fact that Steam changed the way the games support gamepads, and not involves HG.

Maybe your triggers are not functioning like they would (hardware), or probably it is just the dead zone is bad configured.

Btw, there is another problem when "quick menu (on foot)"; the A button to accept buildings or whatever just make you jump after you confirm, which is ridiculous.

Is entirely possible, it's a pretend PS3 controller, but it appears to work fine in every other way(and so far in other games but it's pretty new). I did read some reports about not being able to use the right trigger in the ship while it worked fine on foot, but that was in the sticky experimental bug thread so probably wasn't for the public version.

Sorry, but that doesn't works for me. It seems that Steam rebinds the configuration everytime I switch to another device, so it everytimes selects Xbox One Controller.

Tho, I have a new brand 2019 non-Elite Xbox One controller, but never presented any button binding troubles in other games like these. For sure, never played with new Steam's gamepad support.

Same issue- Xbox One contoller -Unable to hold X" to set a marker- since the Beyond Update. the only way for me to mark anything is use the " F" and then"E" on the keyboard when needed
