If it is the teleport feature, you can change the type of locomotion to smooth in the options menu. I did that the moment I loaded the game, and it was nice. The foot speed is a good one to prevent nausea.
I can't do that for more than a few seconds without getting motion sick myself, and apparently that's common enough that the default is teleport/snapping.
Hope this helps.
Game settings i think. Where all the mouse/thumbstick sensitivity stuff is.
2. Click on the 3 lines in the upper left.
3. Choose Devices +> Controller Settings -> Choose your game NMS Game from the list of games.
4. You will see the default profile you are currently using at the top, Edit this profile.
5. Choose the second Tab 'On Foot;' from the left.
6. Scroll down on the left handed controller and you will see Trackpad with a list of current bindings.
7. Choose the [+] sign on the right of the word Trackpad, this will create a new menu near the bottom. Scroll down and you will see it.
8. You will see a 'Use as TrackPad' Option with 'Click', 'Touch', and 'Postition' set to 'NONE'.
9. Select the Edit pencil in the bottom left of that window to edit these settings.
10. Click on 'none' for position and a window pops up. Choose 'Move'.
11. Now click on the check in the bottom left to save this change.
12. Now go to the Right Controller and repeat steps 6 thru 9 but replace the word 'left' with 'right'.
12. Click on 'none' for position and a window pops up. Choose 'Look'.
13. Now click on the check in the bottom left to save this change.
Back out of here and then in game like someone stated in NMS Settings, change movement from 'Teleport' to 'Smooth Movement' and you are good to go.
I got on well with Skyrim walking about, no motion sickness at all but I'm in a seated position while playing. Standing up makes me feel as though I'm falling because my eyes are telling me I'm moving but my legs are telling me I'm standing still. The only time it gives me a real buzz is when Skyrim frequently freezes and I move my head any everything moves with me, it seems to stun you for a second or two.
I managed to find it and the speed is just right. Now all I need is a way to change the controls, just doesn't seem right pulling the trigger to walk when there's a perfectly good thumbpad there.
What I posted only requires that I rub my thumb over the thumbpad. No trigger pull.
Usually keep my thumbs close tot he center of the thumbpad for micro movements.
