How do you free rotate base pieces?
I'm not sure if this is a Beyond bug or not, so if someone can point me in the right direction, even if that's wait-for-fix, that would be great.

Using standard keyboard and mouse, how does one correctly free rotate a base piece like a decorative pipe? To clarify, this is for analogue rotation - not snap rotation via R and T.

When holding Left Alt in build mode, the keys that should work according to the default controls (Q/E/A/D) seem to do nothing other than navigate the build menu.

The build HUD briefly changes on press of Left Alt like it's about to show new controls, but then immediately changes back whether the key's held or not.

Apparently you need to press and hold two different buttons to activate it, but with the keyboard it seems that it's only reading it as clicking the button (both buttons are mapped to left alt by default), even if you hold it.

Remapping both under the 'Building' section and under the 'Quick Menu (On Foot)' section didn't help.

Should be reported to the zendesk: https://hellogames.zendesk.com/

I'm guessing it probably works with a gamepad tho, if you happen to have one lying around to try (sadly I don't), could be a work-around until they fix it for keyboard users.

Yes that's missing since Beyond. You used to be able to hold R and use mouse-wheel to free rotate. Best we can do atm is go into Camera mode (C) and move around. Not as good, but gives a 'bit' extra rotation :) HTH
