Point of Cooking?
Is it only for baiting critters? Characters don't have to eat, no bonuses gained from eating them. Is this mostly an RP thing?

It's mostly a thing to toy with for now. It's also a pretty good source of nanites if you need some, through the Nexus NPC

Other than nanites or replenishing life support... seems to have no purpose. It's a shame since it's a neat system and could be used for all sorts of things from temorary stat bonus' to turning in desired meals for various missions. Even giving stuff to individuals to learn locations or language. They built the framework to obtain resources through unique means and make some cool stuff... and gave us nothing to do with it. Sigh.

The cooking system is half baked.
Eating the food gives you stat buffs.

So many nanites. But I'm guessing we'll see more stuff with cooking in later patches.

This is what I was expecting. You can craft some complex things. Suit bonuses would be nice.

In terms of cooking all I want to know is how to make the cheese. The recipe is supposedly there, but the one on the wiki is wrong. At least they fixed the mordite issue as of today in experimental.

Cream or Proto-Cream make cheeses.

When I put them in they don't make cheese- they make butter. I'm not sure I can live in a cheeseless world. :(

The point is to make the food critic guy in the Anomaly thank you and give you 40 nanites for each delicious creation.

just wanted to pop in and say thank you for the replies. Well there are certainly much easier ways to make nanites, literally.

Cheese is fermented cream so you use Cream and Yeast.

This damn mechanic pisses me off so much that I completely forgot about other game deficiencies. If at least there was where to store all this sh*t, I would even give up, but the player only got a space with a capacity of 500. Devs can put it in their shoes. I hope they trow this out with next update. Senseless pile of sh*t.

Cooking, and the interface for cooking, refining and crafting, all needs some improvement, still.

Cooking is unrewarding, and the interface we use to select ingredients for crafting things is rather tedious to use when it shows only a few ingredients per page and also closes the window when you select one ingredient.

Too much effort for such little reward.
