If you're mining to make money, you should try to get an indium drive and go to blue systems. Look for planets with activated indium on them, and mine them with the smallest size with your terrain manipulator (default key is R to make it smaller). You can sell it for a decent amount of units, or refine it for a ton of chromatic metal.
1: get the survey visor/scanner
2: Find a planet with ACTIVATED Copper
3: find a copper hotspot, with your visor preferably S but a B or A is fine honestly.
4: Set up a portal or a portal room toss up some power to run it while electromagnetic hot spot is the best it's not always reliable, so using batteries and solar panels will work but you'll have to figure out how many you end up needing.
5: Drop down a refiner and a couple supply depots
I earn around 1500 activated copper every hour, and by the time i need it again its normally ready to be harvested again.
Hope this helps
Friendly tip: if you find subterranean relics, you hit a gold mine. With one extra step that i won't spoil.
+1 I like this tips :)
