How Do You Find Ancient Bones Now
So before the beyond update you could scan a planet and it would tell you if there were ancient bones on it, now it doesn't do that anymore. Is there a visor upgrade or something I need now to find them? There's two planets in the system I'm working out of that I know had them and they no longer are listed as having them when I scan the planet. Been trying to find out if they changed something about how you go about searching for them as they were the best source of money when you don't have a multi-tool with a small arsenal built into it lol

It still tells you if you scan it from space.

I get an "Ancient Bones" (and Scrap) on the planetary resources list in Normal mode when scanning from space. Maybe it's different if you're playing Survival or Permadeath? Otherwise, I'd just drop down on the planet, jump out and do a quick scan of the area. Even if you don't scan anything else, it's good for a few nanites as a discovery when you get around to uploading those. I like bones better since dig sites tend to be closer together than scrap sites do, but that's the only other way than a planetary scan that I can think of to find out.

Nope, my screenshot above was taken in permadeath.

To the OP: If you're confused because you took a Nexus mission to dig up ancient bones, those sometimes place the marker on the wrong planet. Scan other planets in the system and one of 'em will have the bones, you can dig 'em up there and it'll still complete the mission without issues.

They should show after a scan from space. Landing on the planet and using the visor helps too.

Subterranean artefacts are better, storm crystals are even better.

Okay cool to know that planets that had bones before could morph into planets that don't have them after the update. I haven't taken any missions from the nexus yet holding off until I get my main base more established before I start messing with those. I don't even have a base portal up and running yet lol Thank you all for the help

I prefer buried technology, because in addition to getting a little treasure to sell, often enough you get a few corrupted sentinels that count towards kill X sentinels missions without the hassle of having to leave one alive and hide to avoid getting dogs and walkers. :)

I got a quest where I need to unearth ancient bones and it brought me to a planet that shows ancient bones in the resource list.

I now spent an hour swimming in the water, flying to another spot while using the analysis visor.
I now left the ocean biom and I'm walking around on land and didn't find anything.

Can you find them in a specific Biom or is this just a bug? I hate loosing the daily quest again because of this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
