So the fireteams are just adhoc groups for missions and not a way for a group of 4 people to play with others?
The fireteams are a new feature for Nexus missions. Four people can still play together by joining the lobby of one of them.
But nobody else can join if you already have 4? that's what im getting at. I mistook this update as expanded multiplayer
They cannot group with you, but they can live on your planet, appear next to you, interact with you. they just not in your 4 player group (which really has little function as it is)
note that the ambient players base building actions will not update for you until they "upload" their bases, and you will only be able to see 32 or so at a time of them flying around. if you have more friends than that they'll get split between lobbies.
