Took me a while to figure out, seems like a wasted opportunity to build cool networked bases via long power lines.
Optimal set up seems to be to set your main base near power generators, set up mines with solar/batteries. I kinda had that reversed, so my first Beyond base is humping a trade depot and copper node. I have power ~500u away but can't get the power over to the main base.
The best way i have found to do this is to use the deployable save beacons. Walk until the build menu vanishes, back up a bit & place a beacon, then repeat until you get to the place you want to mine & build your extractor... took me about 6 beacons to extend about 1000u from the base computer. Afterwards I ran cables & pipes back to the base which anchored the base zone so I could pick up all the beacons and move to the next extension.
No need to waste resources, i placed flags and blue lights on them so the power line isn't too ugly.
It does. Don't use batteries if you don't want to. Just place items on the edge of the building area.
Thank you!
Same, I tried with batteries and with flags now but nothing, still the same range
It's true, personally i manually walked until i couldn't build, walked a bit back and put it right beside me.
That's also a safer/easier option.
