How can I find my broken ship in my collection?
I once added a crashed ship I found from a distress beacon to my collection and I didn't fix the engine because I didn't have the materials back then. Right now I want to get to it, fix it and try to trade it up but I can't find it anywhere. I can't summon it because the engine is broken obviously.
I looked around google and some people said all ships in your collection can be found in your frigate but my frigate hangar is empty, and I can't find any other methods.

I find that sometimes the ship won't show at first, but when I warp to a new system it's in my freighter. Maybe just resummoning the freighter might work as well.

Also check all three hangers on your freighter

Pretty sure it won't appear in your freighter hangar unless it's capable of taking off.

I think you're going to have to look for it the hard way. I'm not sure if it will show a HUD icon once you're on the planet where you found it, since it won't be your current selected ship. In the future, anything like that you want to be sure to find later, you'll want to set down a beacon, so there's a discernible location marked.

Yeah I reloaded the freighter save like the first guy said and it didn't appear. I don't even remember the planet I found it on.
I got it during my first few hours in the game so I didn't know what I was doing.

Looks like the hard way then. You're going to need to backtrack where you've been and go hunting.

Summon your freighter again. That usually fixes it.

No. Just not doable.
Just go into space, call your Freighter (not a Frigate).
The Freighter must be warped to a location.
If you do not warp it, you do not get your ship. Not my rules but the Space Valet's. It's in the contract.
Once the Freighter has warped, your broken ship will have been transported to one of the Bays inside.
Fly in and look around. You should not be able to miss it. It is a ship. They take up a lot of space.
You will then have to fix the equipment if you want to ever fly it or call it for use -as the Space Valet service does NOT fix it for you. They just deliver into Freighter Bay after you warp the Freighter. Again, it is in the contract. And they are Valets, not mechanics. I mean sure, some could probably do the work but... contract, union. Reasons.

If this does not work then you did not actually take possession of the crashed ship. It happens. Especially if it was Gek. Never trust a Gek. Their dealings are always slanted in their favor.
Heck, one just flew off with the ship I put effort in to repair. :steamsalty:
Geks & Space Valet. It's all about the contract for them.

Won't help now; but when you think you'll want to return to a specific spot; put down a save beacon, or base computer. You can spot either from space; and provided you don't spam them everywhere - you can easily find your way back to the exact spot.

Or even better a minibase (that shows up on teleporter)

Just the base computer is enough. You can teleport to that, you don't need to have a teleport there.

I claimed my ship and fixed it. As soon as I claimed it I couldn't get in my old ship anymore. I had to leave it on the planet, it also is not available for me to summon...

This seems to be fixed now as I just claimed a crashed ship and had no issues. I did not do anything special.
There were 3 options. I chose Claim.

I put a save beacon at the crash it will show up and you can find the ship

Some have already stated the obvious but I'll rehash.

Your ship shows on your radar as a dot until you leave the system or reload. So if you are still in system and in game without reload you can follow the indicator in your center hologram radar.

Once you get a freighter the ship will be in the hanger once you respawn the freighter or save and reload. You do not have to fix anything for it to be spawned in the freighter.

It has to have minimum thrusters and pulse engine working and fueled to call it your location.
These are easy to fix when you first find the crash but you don't need to if you have a freighter.
