Cargo slot in Exosuit
Hello again,
New to the game but have been loving it. Really addicting. Anyways, I noticed this cargo tab on my exosuit. I have been lucky to find drop pods to almost fully upgrade my exosuit but how do you use the cargo slot? How do you upgrade it?

I looked online and someone said you use drop pods but when I approach one, it just upgrades inventory. Do I need to max out inventory first?

Regards

You upgrade it the same was as your base inventory and tech slots. When at the Drop Pod or station interface, you can switch between the Exosuit / Tech / Cargo tabs. ( located across the top of the screen above the storage grid)

Do that, then "buy" the upgrade and you're set.

just fly to the spacestation and upgrade there. i did it that way and made billions along the way. just stack up cobalt in the beginning and crash the price on the station, then buy it back for less. that way you make a buttload of units and upgrade your exosuit in no time.

each upgrade has to be made on a different station but it is so worth it. i never have to think about money ever again.

found this guide on YT and followed the instructions.

have fun

Also remember that you can upgrade your general / technology / cargo spots of your exosuit twice per new system.

Once in the station near the exosuit npc and once at the nexus once you can summon it near the exosuit npc.

Okay, first. I didn't know you could upgrade the cargo slot at the exosuit upgrade spot in space stations. I also didn't know this about drop pods.

I also have never seen this in the nexus. Where is it located in the Nexus?

Lastly, what advantages does the cargo slots bring or don't? What can or can't be stored there?
And lastly, you are all awesome!
My last exosuit upgrade at a space station was only 120k. I have about 50 million and I just started playing so I should be good. Right now I am focused on this and getting a better fighter with more slots. Mine only has 19 slots. Someone said they have fighters with 30+ slots but you have to be in 3 star economy class systems to see them.

Best way to upgrade the Cargo slots is with Drop Pods.

You can buy or find Drop Pod Coordinate Data at a few places.

When you fly to a new System use one.
Once you get there fix, the Drop Pod.
You can use it to upgrade any of the three types of inventory slots.

You want to choose Cargo because it's the most expensive.

Then while you're standing beside the Pods use another coordinate data.
It will give you the location of a second Pod.

Don't do it more then two times because it will give you the location of the one you just did.
It's a waste.

Anyway, you can get two of these in every system.
Pretty cool.

What's more, once you have a few million to spare, you can trade This data.
Lots of times you'll be able to buy them for a really low price and there will be 70-80 of them.
Going to cost you about 8 million to buy them all.

You can them sell them for 10-11 million.

Easy money.

Thanks for the advice. That is great. What data are you talking about trading?

Drop Pod Coordinate Data.

You can buy it and sell it.... or use it.
Or both.

I do both.

I keep around 20 for myself to use [in the beginning till I max out] and then buy them for cheap whenever I can.

That's how I afforded my new ship last game I played.

I didn't know you could buy it. I have only been able to find it from ancient structures or whatever those stones are. They give navigation data and sometimes drop pod cords. I freaking hate nav data at this point. I get so much I either discard what I get or buy charts. I always keep some on my capital ship in case I need some.

Yeah whenever you're at a minor settlement check for them.
That's usually where you get them for cheap!

I was SOOOOOO lucky where I set up my base last game.
Installed Trading Thingie and.... tadaa... right at my base i could buy 80 of them.
Respawned every few hours.
Rinse and repeat.

This game, however, I just keep checked in Space Stations and Minor Settlements.
Still getting as many as I can afford so.... seems to be a good method.

Depends on the mode you're playing in. In Survival, basic slots hold 250 / 5 , and cargo hold 500 / 10. ( the split being materials and stackable items )

in Normal, basic slots hold up to 10k, but still only 5 items. Not sure if cargo doubles the mats to 20k, but still maintains the 10 count on stackables. Basically the key advantage is double capacity on stackable items.
Cargo does NOT double resource stacks to 20k, I've tried. Just for the record.

I have another question if someone could help. Like I said, first time playing. I built my base with all the terminals where I originally started at in game. It isn't a bad spot but not the best. Can I move my base? I have made other bases but what about those terminals? The science terminals and the guys I hired? Will they come? How do I make them or do I just have to keep "main base" where it is?

Thanks for the info on Cargo slots to the other person. I am playing normal mode. Just whatever normal mode the game has. Nothing fancy.
When you re-build the terminals in your new base there will be an option to hold E over them to summon your hirelings; they'll only occupy a single base at a time, but you can call them back and forth between as often as you'd like.

That is good to hear. I am about to put a base on this planet that has ancient artifacts. That is some easy money right there and there is a settlement nearby. It is a nice planet with barely any sentinals if any at all.
