Report a translation problem
1) If you follow your scanner right up to the hotspot, it will automatically start analyzing the hotspot - mainly to tell you how strong it is and how much it will produce.
2) I know of no way to 'choose' what you look for: What you find is what you get. You literally have to 'circle' your base and see what the game has given you.
When I find a good planet that I would like to put a 'shelter' base on (somewhere to go for some special resource, for example), I will literally hop on my Exocraft and ride all over looking for a Power Hotspot. At that point, I drop my Base Computer, followed by my Power Generator, then I can put down my base.
