How many units (credits, $, money, currency, gold) is enough?
Back late last year I stopped after I crossed the 1G mark after crafting and selling a bunch of Fusion Igniters. I guess that would have been 70 or so of them although I was selling Portable Reactors until I got the Igniter recipe from some manufacturing plant that I pillaged. I guess I'll make another billion units worth of them just for fun.

I sort of wish there was something to do with large quantities of currency though other than admire the third comma.

There should still be a limit after which your transactions go negative...I don't remember the amount, and I don't care much honestly.
Money doesn't really matter in this game, the important things must be gathered with Nanites for the blueprints. Only ships and freighters really need money.

I stopped at 200 millions, I don't see the point in having any more than that.

Some freighters with good cargo capacity could easily cost much more than that, but maybe this has changed in Beyond.

If you don't intend to make more money, having more cargo space is equally useless.

You can see the cost of ships here:

Those are in millions so two-three A/S class large haulers and a good freighter will get you good inventory space and chew up through some money.

As for nanites it depends how many S class, don't bother with others really, you feel like you need and for quicksilver I believe it was about 50,000 to get everything but you will need to edit your game file for those.

My S class capitol freighter cost around 2 billion. After that I was able to waste some money on frigates. Then I went around filling up my inventory by buying carbon and stuff. I wish we could buy a space station. I am with you on being so rich that money stopped mattering.

I usually stop at about one billion and start my way towards the center.

Yes, do tell. I have never seen carbon for sale.

I take notes on what is usually found and what you dont usually see in the trade terminal (I look at them both because they are always slightly different) on stations. It's and OCD thing I have and I use it to buy what I want rather than getting it from the environment. The data is collected early in the game as I warp from wealthy system to wealthy system crashing economies with Cobalt then wiring looms, stacking missions and collecting slots for my suit.

I have never seen carbon for sale in over 250 different stations. However you can always buy oxygen and refine it into carbon and condensed carbon. :/

Ah, good point. I should probably make another 2G of Fusion Igniters. I'm down to 900M at the moment and it will probably be a long time before I run into an S class freighter. I don't really care about the freighter game but maybe I would then.

ITS NEVER ENOUGH #CAPITALISM

On a more serious note, I think when you have around 500 mil you can do whatever you want (considering a freighter at worst costs around 450 mil).

I have 1,3bil and i think this is way to much. In my opinion 300mil is enough. Now in game I make more money than I spend when I'm doing nothing, but in other hand allready have all S-class perfect stuff. No need anything more and there is nothing I want to buy (I think this is biggest shame of NMS). Even when I rebuild any of my bases I'll spend less money then I can got from scanning of the one unknown planet.

Don't worry about it, Freighters haven't cost 2billion since the 1.2 update, he just hasnt played recently. A max level S rank Freighter costs about 200-250mil, assuming you have squat for a trade-in.

It's good to have a max level freighter if your doing frigate missions, so you dont have to clean it out every day (if you dont play that much) but otherwise, there's really no point maxing inventories even in survival unless you just like min/maxing (i do).

You'll know when you have enough. It becomes quite obvious.
