How to get new Ship Weapons?
The starting weapons are pretty trash. Does anyone know how to buy, craft, or find new weapons for your ship? Thanks, really need the help as I am annoyed with the Photon Cannon.

You can get blue prints by raiding manufacturing & command centers, or buy them from shops in Gek Starbases

Okay thanks, I mainly run Vk'een systems but I'll make my way over. Credits or Nanites?

Haven't played NMS in a while but from what I remember you can buy them at stations, or loot them from enemy ships, might be able to get them from abandoned outposts as well.

Phase beam would be my favourite weapon, Yep can be bought from blueprint trader at space station for Nanites?

The default cannon is very powerful but you have to make mods for it. Same with the others, they are terrible without mods. Its not the weapon, its the lack of mods. Also note that exotics and fighter class ships do more damage.

You can either buy them from the gek nanite vendor at stations, or you can do armorer missions at the base for 3 of them: The second mission gives cyclotron ballista, 5th gives positron ejector and the 6th mission gives infra-knife accelerator. Phase beam can also be obtained from most sources of random sigma blueprints, like npc interactions or buildings.

You start with the rocket launcher installed on your first ship, but the blueprint is only obtained from the nanite vendor.

Note that upgrades have a big impact on the effectiveness of the weapons, and the weapons are mostly fairly close to each other at similar upgrade levels, though some are situationally better.

Phase beam is instant hit, but needs fuel.

Photon cannon and infra-knife can fire for a long time, but if they overheat they are also disabled for 8 seconds, Photon cannon is almost stricktly better than infra knife unless you got an almost perfect layout, where the infra-knife just barly pushes ahead as you can't move the base photon cannon module.

Cyclotron ballista has double the dps of beam/cannon/infra-knife, but slow projectile speed and some spread, so likely to miss if the target is turning at medium range. Very low cooldown between bursts.

Positron ejector has very high potential damage, but short range and huge spread, need to hit with atleast 3 out of 20 bullets to equal photon cannon dps. Very low cooldown between bursts.

Rockets is a secondary weapon that deals high damage, but can only fire every 5 seconds at best.
