Now for looking around you turn your head (great invention for VR looking around as if you were actually there almost like you were in a virtual reality) and to turn use your keyboard. I could be wrong here as I don't use them I use the controllers but I assume from other threads that's how it works.
VR is exclusively motion controller based in NMS, just like it says on the store page:

There is a few edge case scenarios where mouse/keyboard still works in VR, like you have some limited usability in ship/vehicle control and menu interfaces, but this is not intentional and arises from an overlap in how input commands are interpretted by the game.
I'm not sure if XBox style controllers work; pretty sure they do not. HOTAS definitly don't work with it which has been a major sore spot for a lot of people as the virtual joystick in ship flight is kind've janky to learn.
I believe there are VorpX profiles for NMS that let you play classic NMS using VR pretty well, which'd let you use HOTAS/mouse/keyboard. But native VR they added in Beyond is exclusively designed as seated/standing motion controlled format.
There is no way to turn your character without hand controllers.
I can turn my head yes i understand this is how VR works.
But i can not turn my char.. just move using WASD
When i enter a ship (Real pain not being able to turn character) it flies normally with KB and MOUSE.
But as for on foot, yeah no it's rubbish. :(
As I said I could have been wrong, but in the other thread it did state keyboard and mouse can be used and Nethiuz does say it can be used for moving only when walking, in ships and possibly exocraft? So Ryuujin VR is not exclusively motion controller based in NMS.
So yes, Nethuiuz it does seem stupid that you can use the mouse and keyboard in ships but you cant use the keyboard to walk and turn when out on foot. This could mean it wouldn't be that difficult to add so I would suggest you head to their site and start a thread requesting it over there.
What I specifically need is the ability to use the mouse to turn the characters body. Better than keyboard option.
Keyboard allows WASD so I can go back forward and side to side but unable to actually turn your character without hand controllers is just stupid.
Is this a real question or are you just an idiot?
Cool story, i don't have motion controllers, i want the KB and Mouse to work like it does outside VR.
Valve index mate.
Also your retaliation is as stupid as you, says the guy who doesn't know how to turn in VR?
Please enlighten me and everyone else as to how you do it without any hand controllers?
The world is waiting.
How long have you had NMS, if only since Beyond for the VR maybe you should have read up on the VR control method before purchase.
Had it since start.
Also I don't want controllers.
I want to play with KB and Mouse.
Hand controllers are rubbish and clunky I had them with my old Rift.
I use HOTUS when flying a ship far superior. So I'd like to just KB and mouse on foot.
Thanks.
Turning with anything but the accelerometer on the VR headset is extremely jarring and impractical. IF they add support for kb/m or regular gamepads in VR, it would likely just make you turn and aim whereever you look,And in that case, kb/m wouldnt work very well because they're stuck on a desk and would prevent you from being able to physically turn and look around. So a gamepad would be ideal since you can hold it in your hands and turn around freely. But its been so long, im starting to doubt they will even bother to implement that.
