Oh yeah I saw something about that. Like I earn a glyph after a jump or black hole jump. I forget. I am about to jump again. I guess it will resolve itself and if I really want to change galaxies I can always just warp to the center or black hole jump. I read about that online to some effect. I am not sure though. 70000 ly I believe is my distance right now.
Thanks. This is exactly what I needed to know. I have my main base in Euclid so I am ready for some lush green planets for real! Thanks. Appreciate it.
I would chose to go to new galaxy just to play it safe (as Beyond update permits you to return to Euclid through teleporter anyway - as long as you have at least one base there already).
When you arrive in your new galaxy all of your bases in Euclid will still be available to you - but not the space stations you have visited there.
It is very important to establish a base in your new galaxy before you travel back to Euclid.
The Purge quest increments by 1 up to 16 every time you warp to a new system. After 16 warps it presents a portal to, presumably, the center of the galaxy where you can choose a new galaxy. The portal can be anywhere in the Euclid galaxy, but always where you are at that moment. Like all quests you probably can reset the system where the quest portal resides, although I have not tried that.
Many do not choose to leave Euclid. There's not a whole lot of differences between the galaxies. Worse, you lose all your bases, basically your history in Euclid is purged, and you, your multitool, and the ship you left with end up thrashed to smithereens in another galaxy. Just like you began in Euclid, except likely worse since you probably have tricked out your ship and multitool with lots of upgrades. And they will all be broken...every single thing.
So if you do leave Euclid, leave in the ship you want to really want to keep, and bring tons of the types of resources you need to fix every compartment in your ship and multitool. That is why most people were less than thrilled about the conclusion of the main quest to get to the center of the galaxy. Most don't find it worth it, esp. with multiplayer, most people are in Euclid anyway. The new anomaly portal supposedly allows movement between galaxies, but I don't know if they stopped purging your stuff after you "move on". Based on what's in some of the other posts here, sounds like your bases are now safe. But you still probably will sort of regret it.
The "Purge" basically is a shortcut to the center of the galaxy, but it's also a bit of a joke since you and all your stuff not on you gets purged too. And because it whisks you away sooner than trying to warp 500 times to the center of the galaxy yourself, you are less likely to have built up an empire of bases in Euclid, so have less to lose when you purge yourself from Euclid. That's probably why many didn't want to leave Euclid originally since they may have spent hundreds of hours building bases there only to have them all left behind by moving on to another galaxy.
Depending on your hyperjump range (which you can upgrade with S-class hyperdrive upgrades), you may take 500 or more jumps to reach the center of the galaxy yourself, maybe half that 200 to 300 jumps with black holes. A decently upgraded hyperdrive has a range of about 2700 ly or more.
Now that you can move upgrades around it's easy to cherry pick the best upgrades. Look at each upgrade you install. Unfortunately you have to install them to find out their upgrade specs. About the most range extension I have been able to get is 250 ly per upgrade, but if you have 6 of them (3 in the tech section, 3 in inventory), and you arrange them properly, they will synergize to give you much more than the "book value" range increase. Generally you want to always make square arrangements with S-only upgrades, like the Indium drive in close proximity to 3 other S-upgrades.
If you see any low upgrade ranges, like 200 ly, buy a new hyperdrive upgrade and install it....check the stats and throw away which ever is smaller. Make sure the upgrade with the highest value is flanked by the other ones...that seems to produce the best range increase.
This is not correct. I have recently changed galaxies using this mission and all my bases in Euclid are still available to me.
As mentioned, that was more the issue before recent patches, but I read other posts after Beyond indicating that there are still some bugs with the back and forth travel between galaxies. Regardless, your ship and multitool as far as I know are still trashed when you choose to exit to another galaxy. And the original concept of the game was to purge everything, bases, changes, EVERYTHING when you switch galaxies.
Here are some cited issues others have raised about this:
"a) Teleporters in Eissentam do not register for me. Whatever system station I visit in that Galaxy I can't seem to get back through a teleporter. In Euclid I travel normaly and system teleporters are registered in my list.
b) All of my discoveries in Euclid were gone. Unfortunately I can't remember if this was before I visited Eissentam or after. "
Another said about a new galaxy:
"One thing I noticed is that recently my freighter and fleet have completely disappeared. I hope this bug is fixed (I'm on the experimental branch) I don't know if the freighter loss has anything to do with travelling between galaxies. Anyway fingers crossed they keep the ability to teleport between galaxy bases and fix the freighter bug."
Another said:
"Weird stuff. I would definitely be ♥♥♥♥♥♥ to lose all my discoveries"
And another:
"Stay in Euclid! :D"
Yes I did suffer damage during the transfer between galaxies but I was able to repair most of that with material I had on hand or on my freighter. It certainly wasn't a big enough issue to prevent my making the switch and I am loving Eissentam.
Anyways, I have come across a couple bugs but nothing serious. If I warp my capital ship, sometimes I can't see my 3 other ships that are stored inside. They are there, just not able to see or interact. I have to warp the capital ship again. Other than that, nothing else. One annoying thing is the freighter designs. When I repair one for example, and I go to leave I will get stuck on like the crap sticking out. Happens on planet sometimes as well at trading post. The only other major bug I experienced is once I went into the anamoly and my fighter would not land. I kept spinning up and around and people were laughing. I had to reload the save.
So, I appreciate the great information. I have not really done much multi-player missions at the Nexus. I read somewhere there was an actual community in some galaxy but idk. Seems a bit odd.
Yes, but it's a bug..(maybe) The teleport list should have been reset when you switched galaxies. The new ones don't (or didn't) into the list in the new galaxy. I've not heard if this is intended or unintended. So beware, if it is a bug and they fix it you might get messed up.
