W and E keys
My E and W keys are no longer preforming as required.

The E only goes around the circle about half way stutters then if I am lucky it completes the circle and performs the action, it does that when entering the ship but when leaving it is almost instant.

The W on the other hand will not work at all walking, launching the ship or accelerating none of them work.

I have tried changing to another key in the settings but with no luck none of them even allow me to input any other key apart from any of the mouse buttons.
On the side bar that uses the W and S keys to navigate I have no problems

I have uninstalled/reinstalled the game

In the keybinding, there are different menu options. Like "on foot", "on foot - running", menu etc.

Maybe you lost a key binding or have a conflicting key binding?

My 'c' for the build camera stopped working, probably with the most recent experimental build. When I checked key bindings, it was no longer set. When I try to set it, it highlights the entry red, but never works. When I restart, the setting is cleared again.

That was the answer, strange though it works in all other programs with no problem.

The one that I have now hasn't got all of the bells whistles and lights, but it works.

Likely because you have to hold keys so often, and any stopping of the signal resets the hold timeout. You might be able to use a mod that reduces the time you need to hold keys for. I'm pretty sure there is one for mouse buttons, but not sure about keyboard. There might even be a value in the settings file that can adjust it. Just going from memory at the moment though.
