BUT, and that's a BIG but, why in the world have they not yet put in decent galactic navigation? Seems pretty rudimentary and I started playing at release and figured by now it would be in. Disappointed...so fundamental.
It is so baffling that this isn't a feature. Or at the very least, let us just bookmark different systems.
Makes you wonder, if there is not some sort of unique issues involved with the Game Engine and how it interacts with the server, or/and Universe Build, or/and maybe also how games are saved ?
I suspect that if this was a viable feature, they would have added it somehow... the ability to create "unlimited" solar system waypoints, does seem a natural for a game of this scope...
... and, so... Ockham's Razor :)
Heh...maybe they misread the KISS principle as; Keep it Simple and Stupid.
And I might also add that someone posted they keep track of the route in a spreadsheet. If you can do that through another application you can do it internally to NMS.
