Can you move planting stations?
Ok so I finished the farmer missions but don't like the layout I made. Can I move the stations even with plants in them? Will I lose the plants?

Thanks

i think you will loose the plants. but not 100% sure. so deconstruct them first and to get back your stuff

With 1.35, you could remove plants from a planter and get back the resources to create them. I have not played 1.37 to see if you get the rescources back if you delete an empty planter.

In both my normal and survival as long as you DELETE the plant first then DELETE the planter you get all resources back

Test it and find out, then reload save if it didn't work out. Pretty sure even if you delete the planter first, you get the plant materials back as well.

You don't lose anything if you dismantle first the plants in the trays (after collection), then the trays, then the windows, then the room, all in this order.

CyberGreg is right. I moved plenty of plants from hydroponic trays to biodomes.

If you don't have domes yet, hopefully you do have cubic rooms and can use quad trays rather than singles. They're SO much easier to keep fueled.

Wow didn't know you had to keep the trays fueled thanks for this info

Too bad I can't quote more than one reply. Thanks to all of you for your help.

Appreciated greatly.

Trays have to be fueled as of 1.3, but biodomes don't. That's why biodomes are so popular in spite of the build cost.

..and in 1.3x the trays are still bugged. Some never need refueling while others run out as intended

Trays don't need to be fueled, if you don't the plant growth will be at 1/4 speed only which doesn't make a difference if you leave and return. But fueling is necessary to get longer lasting plants to grow in synchronity with faster ones.

I prefer the conventional cubic rooms because of rational space and fast collecting time, despite the fact that they are expensive to build with windows.

So do you put trays in biodomes also, guess I didn't know that either, doh!

That type of room makes sense don't know why I didn't think of that. I might try making one and deleting a room.

Thanks

Biodomes are round, and have room for 16 plants around the edge and do NOT require trays as the plant holders are "built into" the biodomes, but you have to build them ON TOP of another round or square room and then build a ladder UNDER them and enter from below to have all 16 plants.

If you build a door or attach a hallway to one edge of the Biodome, you loose 3 planter slots and can only plant 13 plants.

Here is an old screenshot of my base, showing a couple biodomes:

Biodomes are VERY expensive to build, but require NO re-fueling, and ALL of the same type plants planted in them at the same time will GROW at the SAME rate.

I got rid of my large cuboid room, and all of my Hydroponic Trays and converted over to ALL biodomes and have not regretted it one bit.

I have moved my base several times, and usually manually remove all plants from the biodomes first, then DE-construct the biodomes and get ALL materials back, including the planting materials.

I have also forgotten to remove plants first and just DE-constructed a biodome, but I STILL got ALL of my planting materials back anyway, so I guess either way still gets all materials back.

Thanks, man you base is much more organized then mine. I built one dome probably not more for a while. Good to know about the planting I don't want to lose them.

Much appreciated
