The cockpit Exotics should actually have
Finished making the HUD design I thought up at the end of pathfinder/release of atlas rising. Got the idea while watching one of the Marvel movies with Iron Man, but with the obstructions in front of the cockpits, I'd expect the views on exotics to be simulated camera feeds instead of piggy-backing off of the scientific explorers..

Yeah, not to mention the mission status and build notices that are less than transparent.
Sadly my mod doesn't fix those :(

Thats ok, after a few hrs playing your not looking around as much and more doing missions.

here's a video of the ship I originally made the cockpit for.. after I demonstrate the rotating propellers, the visual effects and their proc gen colors, I take it for a spin to demonstrate the cockpit..

screens were modified from HammyG's RGBW Ship HUD Retexture mod[nomansskymods.com] (still works with Atlas Rising) and still need their transparencies tweaked..

Long time since I was waiting for something like this. I'd suggest that you make a (far) better contrast for the tech side displays.. it's hard to read for my old eyes ..:)

Thanks, I agree.. still trying to tweak the screens.. hard part is depending on the way the light hits the screens (including the hexmesh backdrop screen), the appearance changes.. and I don't want screens too opaque to see thru when the light isn't shinning on it.. so I have to find a nice balance and I'm still looking..

you can see the cockpit in use in the video just above your post, so you can see what it looks like when the light is shining on it (like in OP) and when you're facing light and the screens are in the shadows..

I like your ship design, there needs to be more ship designs in the game. Much of the ships are like having the same car and just changing the fenders. I still like the more clear view. OH, my eyes arent good either.

Been trying lately to get my joystick working, but thats another tread.

Thanks.. that's why the moarships mod in Pathfinder was created.. variety, fan based ships, iconic ships, etc could be added and enjoyed far more than the vanilla shuttle ships ever were. Sadly, Atlas Rising threw a HUGE monkey wrench into the works..

MoarRocketBunny! J/K.. but yea, I get what you mean.. and after long enough, it's all been seen... *yawn*

Have you tried Redmas' mod that expands ship design with additional parts for the procedural generation? Might just be some new body parts to play with, but at least they'd be new to you (if you haven't tried to mod already)

Looking forward to seeing this posted! You've done some fine mods, can't wait.

thanks, sadly I hit a hurdle and have to redesign the entire cockpit.. which means realigning the screens and fitting everything into place :\

Gunna be a few more days at the minimum..

Here's a video of the HUD in action as I battle sentinels to and thru the freighter..

That's cool, it gives you a better view. Are you using a joystick to fly, the maneuverability of your ship is impressive.
