Pinning and unpinning recipes

So, I have this annoying little problem. I picked up a recipe and the game automatically pinned it, so I could find the resources and build it. The problem is, I don't want to build it. I have other quests I would like to follow, but they get rotated with this recipe in the blue quest prompts at the bottom of the screen.

It gets really annoying when I'm trying to open my suit inventory and it defaults to my tool inventory because it's recipe prompt is currently being displayed. I know I can unpin it, but you apparently have to have a free slot in your tool to even get to the build menu where you can unpin it.

The only solution, I can see, is to dismantle one of my equipped upgrades, just so I can open the build menu and unpin. Very annoying. Is there another way to unpin recipes without opening the build menu?

Keyboard or controller? I just tap one side or the other of my trackpad to switch between General, Tech and Bulk Storage slots....handy and easy.

Keyboard and mouse. I just need to know if there is another way to unpin recipes. It is just a button press to switch between the different storages, but you can't pull up your build menu, in any given storage area, be it cargo, tech or bulk, without an empty space, and I'm pretty sure the build menu is the only place to pin and unpin recipes. Maybe there is another way?

it can be annoying, especially with the tool, as there are not specialty slots. on a full tool, all i do is dismantly my scanner. unpin the annoying tech.. and rebuild the scanner. carbon is pretty easy to work with.

i don't know that there is another way with kb/m.

Thanks for the replies. Yeah, I guess I'll have to give in and dismantle. Never really thought about how cheap some of them were. Just thought maybe there was a better way. Thanks again.
