Thats where it got stuck for me, too.
Theres the proper ones that give stuff (pre 1.3 you could call them) and then there are new "filler" events which are just conversation. These are repeated/spammed by a decent chunk of the population, all 3 races do it.
You will *always* find filler events at trading stations and often in space stations. they take up about 50-67% of the NPC interactions now, presumably to balance the 50-70% increase in NPC's you can talk to.
I'm not a fan of this new content (they did the same thing with manufacturing plants) since all it does is dilute the good interactions, since there's nothing rewarding in the new ones.
They also magically start speaking space english for these interactions and ignore the fact you can't understand them. They need to be more consistent with their approach to NPC dialog and the languages.
When they start to speak in { } or magically Space English... they are "contolled" by the supermacey entity of the Universe... you are supposed to understand what they say and they are supposed to talk in a way you can understand.
Also... i find it funny that i had the exact same Dialog at a Trading Platform 3 times... i ate the Snail... i put it into my Nose and than in my Ear.
All of that is true, but not relevant to the topic, as I'm sure most people here have realized all that you mentioned on their own, if they played in previous versions.
What we are experiencing is a bug in which the dialogue counter stops progressing (or looping) and every npc of the affected species that gives the regular, non-barter dialogue will keep repeating the same dialogue, across many different locations and star systems. According to some of the previous posts, it gets unstuck after a few real-life days, for me its been stuck for abot two days so far.
And as for where to put that slug - if you ever read Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, or saw The Wrath of Khan, you'd know where small space slimies go. :)
