Giant metallic ring structures found on 'Empty Planet'.

What the hell are these? I've found them on a 'Empty Planet' along with giant floating rotating metal mineral things. It's the strangest planet i've ever found. The giant ring structures (i've found about 5 so far) all seem to be in a line across the planet (i'm marking them as i go) and each one has a panel which brings up very strange text. I'll include photos.

Never seen anything like that. Did you end up on that world as the result of a quest or was it just a random world you landed on?

Yes, i just stumbled upon it. Not part of a quest (although i have started a bit of all of them). It's in the 3rd or 4th system i've jumped to. It's super eerie!

This structure was on the planet I was currently on when I updated to 1.3 ( wasn't there before obviously)- was a bit shocked to find them there when I started up for the first time after applying the update...

I can confirm that they are placed in a perfectly straight line. I have now found 7, still mapping...

I don't know what those portals are (they look like portals of some sort).

But the other thing looks like used space tires to me

Each ring gave me more and more text/story. It was The Atlas speaking directly to me towards the end. Then the story ended, and the next ring (i must have done at least 16, all still in a straight line) went back to the beginning of the story again. WTF?

Thats how all building stories work. They start at the beginning when you are done.

Me too! I'd never seen them before. Found it on one of the malfunctioning planets. The analysis visor labeled the structure as a Boundary Failure.

Makes me think it could (or should) be a way into an alternate universe! :D

its a part of the lore, has story to read if you to interact with them. Make sure you visit more than 1.
