first destroy your nomad geobay, than destroy the engenieer terminal and rebuild it.
Now accept the quest again and build the nomad geobay again, should work fine
The conditions for the quest were changed so that the bays for this quest have to be built inside your base building zone and having ones just outside the zone won't prevent you from placing them.
And since you get all your materials back inside your base zone you can break them down when your done and have some ready for the next planet.
False. I've also encountered this bug and all of my bays were always inside my build area. That isn't the problem. It's a quest breaking bug.
I'm not sure if there was supposed to be another condition, or if they expected you to remove the other bays before building the new ones and only have one at a time. Either way, the quest is glitched badly and breaks progression without the workaround.
Deleting the bay and rebuilding it does nothing, traveling to a space station and back again with the Nomad as your primary doesn't fix it either.
The only thing that worked was to delete the workstation and the bay, save the game and exit, and then rebuild the workstation and the bay. You don't have to rehire the guy, he'll show back up with the rebuilt bay.
