No Man's Sky

Current No Mans Sky is a Brilliant game!
I wasn't expecting there to be, so damn much.
I played No mans sky like everyone else, at launch and found it.......ok. Nothing special like so many children had made it out to be before launch. Played for 30 hours, had decent fun, and uninstalled.

After almost a year. I heard that they have added 2 huge updates to the game along with a 3rd supposedly coming out in less than a month to coincide with the anniversary. So I decided to give it another chance and see if much changed. But damn I didn't expect the amount of change I got. And I never had to pay a penny for all this stuff.

I do think they had all this in mind for the game in their plans all along. But had to rush the game out after too many delays and publisher breathing down their necks. But forget all that. What is here now is simply put, brilliant.

Had there never been a huge e3 hype video. And they just brought out their little indie game with a huge idea. Then the people that enjoy space games (which have always been niche in the first place) would have bought it. And the call of duty dudes and counter strike:go peeps would have went on playing their pew pew games. It would have done fine. But instead everybody wanted it. Even though I said countless times its gonna fail before launch. As although everybody is buying into the hype. Many are leaving out the fact they don't even enjoy these kinds of games in the first place. Very slow paced, gameplay. So what happened was inevitable no matter what was in the final product.

Anywho, this newer No mans sky that exists today is much more fun than it was at launch. And remember, at launch all the reviews were good. It averaged 7/10. And the worst reviews it had from any of the top websites or magazines was a 6/10. It did quite good. And I agreed. It was a fun game, but nothing truly special like it could have been.
Saying that had it been held back almost a year, and released now? I think many more people would have been satisfied with it. The thing is it felt like an early access game at launch. And today it feels much more complete.

Now the graphics are improved. Higher texture resolutions on characters. TAA aliasing added which looks gorgeous. Improved weather effects and lighting. In the space station were it looked more depressing than anything with that poor one alien always stuck there by himself lol. Is now accompanied by 4 or 5 other aliens all huddled into that little room all offering their services to the player. Huge space battles we were promised, actually exist today. And are tough as nails too. You will need to have a well prepared vehicle for fighting 7 or 8 crafts at once, while zipping over and under giant carrier ships. I tried to escape a pirate who proved to difficult as I was unprepared. I was close to a planet and was pulling all kinds of manouvres to make it down to the surface as I knew they didn't follow you there. Got right down near the surface and was relieved.........for about 2 seconds as gunfire rained down on me again. The damn dude had followed me and I had to fight him over the surface which was brilliant!

Other great things are the huge carrier ships that have been added. Now I am able to purchase one. And store multiple ships on it. No more needing to swap my one and only little fighter. When I can have a collection of my favourites instead. This means more inventory space as well as more inventory to store on the carrier ship itself too. Plus I can call this giant ship to anywhere I am in the universe at any time. Another nice thing is being able to stack multiple items on top of each other in my ship inventory. This has been a huge help also.

On the ground I can build unique and crazy looking bases. There is so many parts that I can be as creative as I feel like. Building huge farms to house all my plants for resources. To hire npc's to permanently move in to offer me things without having to keep going off-world for things. And robot drones I can send out to make money for me from scrap. An dnow I'm able to see others bases as they can see mine as well. I also seen a portal in each space station that allows travel to your base at anywhere in the galaxy which is a great feature for going back to gather your resources.

There is different buggies as well now which make exploring the worlds more fun and are great for just going on a loooooong random drive across the land. I stick on some tunes on spotify and just go lol. :P

Photo mode has been added too. This is the best thing about the new stuff for me. It is incredible. I can't get away from the damn thing. And on top of this great feature, there is now a workshop as well. :)

Yesterday I noticed there is a good modding scene as well. And have been adding in loads of little mods that cater to my own preferences as well. Making the entire experience all the better.

All in all there is nothing else i'd rather be playing at the minute than No mans sky. It's a pretty solid fun adventure game.

I had optimization bugs on day 1. So did my friends. But that was fixed ages ago. Must be your system.

Oh the same BS the fanboy always do, blame the user, of course, it is not like my rig is good enough to handle it, but what do i know?
What are your specs.

Actually I have had extreme improvements too, before it would take me 10 minutes to load and only 30 fps, now it takes two to load and 70 fps, this time it is probably on you
I just cant believe how bad this game really is for its cost.

You guys are jokers.

There are so many other BETTER games in this genre.

Well that's the thing dude. Entertainment is subjective. So why bother with childish things?
'That band suck. But this band doesn't suck' e.t.c.
No Mans Sky has had so many fixes and new content and dlc added for free. The game is not the same as the one that came out a year ago. Plus there is another huge update coming this month.

What is actually baffling, is why people that clearly have something against the game completey..............choose to go out of their way by willingly going to the discussions sections of games they do not like to leave messages. Truly baffling.
Yea I was in the game thismorning, and I was first SLAPPED DOWN by the 8 bit 1981 textures, man I wont go on, just to say its utter garbage vs many other games.

These devs dont really deserve any more sales, they deserver to REFUND alot of us for there missleading lies that caused us to buy the game.......

So every now and then I pop in and remind people how crap this game is, maybe they should not have lied about it.
I have bought dozens of games I have ended up not liking at all, but because there so cheap who cares right, I dont troll thousands of game devs for 10 or 20 dollar loss, when a developer KNOWINGLY lies for MONTHS about there game and its features just to inflate its sale value and then slap a megga high price for an EA game , and it IS and EA game not a AAA game that you usually pay top dollar for, then I have every right to cost these suckers sales with posts that reflect poorly on them , andso do you and everyone else who was lied to and ripped off.
And this game for its features and textures IS A RIP OFF. Factoid.

I'll say again. Entertainment is subjective. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean anything more than that.
This game had great reviews all across the board with all major magazines and websites. All 6's and 7's. And today it is a much better game, with tonnes to do. And what are you on about the graphics for? The graphics are amazing. Must be your useless hardware.

Graphics are incredible in No Mans Sky. Just need a decent computer is all.
And as far as multiplayer Sean Murray said 2 years before release it has multiplayer elements in the same tone as Dark souls. And near launch for some reason, people kept saying there was going to be co-op. Even though the last time there was going to be multiplayer was at the very first e3 years before but was scrapped long ago. People hyped themselves up with fantasies in their head.

''To be super clear - No Man's Sky is not a multiplayer game. Please don't go in looking for that experience'' - Sean Murray

He had to say this because people still didn't get it. It wasn't hard to listen to their interviews beforehand. The multiplayer aspects they said would come from naming planets. Finding other named planets visited by players. And each player that visits a planet and the planet generates and loads in the random animals will then always be viewable by others.

Also you sound like a child saying you come in every now and then to warn people? What's with your obsession? Do you go on Justin Bieber videos also, to tell people he isn't any good? How about grow up and stop being a baby. If you don't enjoy a game. Then that's fine. Go play something you do enjoy. Just don't revert to being sad.

When did 6 and 7s become to be considered "great reviews?"

Also, the screenshots you posted aren't impressive in the slightest and further proves his point about how poorly the game looks. If you honestly believe this game has incredible graphics then I really really suggest you start checking out more games.

As for the multiplayer fiasco, I didn't really keep up with it because I only care about single player but Sean did say in previous interviews how you could see other players appearance in game, which you can't so he basically lied and acted like the feature was already in the game when it wasn't so I can understand why people are upset about it.

Maybe he means the one he has played 17 hours a day, every day, for 2 years?

Not great reviews. But you know what I meant. A 6 out of 10 doesn't mean a game is ♥♥♥♥. It's above average. Everyone these days need at least a 8 out of 10 otherwise that means the game sucks.

And again if you don't like the pictures that is fine. But the graphics are not bad at all. They are meant to be this beautiful bright vivid colors. It's the art style they went with from day 1. And it looks very nice to me.

And no, Sean said you could see other players almost TWO years before the game was released. People have found player models in the game files as well since release which like any game means stuff was cut. Perhaps it didn't work properly, who knows. But the build up to release they stated many times that multiplayer wasn't a thing. Not there fault people hung on words he said years before.
Yes well sorry but piddlefot is right.
And there are tens of thousands of us pissed off with these thieves.

This game is NOT above average, go play GTA5 or any new AAA game and tell me its worth as much because we paid as much.

Its crap.
@ the original poster. I love the game too. Nuff said.
Doesnt matter if you have the best PC and best graphic card out there, the textures are just not in the game, its a pastey mash up of overly brightened fubar which looks so retro 80s its sickening.
They havent at all tried to make this game look realistic in anyway, a tree does not look like a tree, it looks like its out of a Lonney Tunes cartoon with an utter lack of texturing on its leaves and very basic patterns on trunks, its rubbish.
The ground terrain is even worse, grass doesnt even have any texture its just a bland blury mess of one overly bright colour, and then the ground terrain under the grass is yet worse again, and they try to use antialiasing to improve that render, which to be frank looks freeky sh__t most of the time if you turn your ship in flight close to ground, that also drills your video card and for such a garbage effect, a really cheap and nasty way to try and make realy plain textures look better....
So burn them video cards for nothing, if it was 2k textures or better and the game looked alot better, maybe it would be worth burning that video card, but for what it is, what a waste of a good video card !.

But if you like it, play it.
Dont lie about what it really is though, it may cost them alot more than the games worth if they buy it, which isnt fair on them or the developers.

But yea I guess, nuff said ay.......
piddlefoot - his name says it all. How can anyone not see how gorgeous a game NMS is, what a blinding technical achievement it is?

Those screenies above? Show me another game that looks anything like that and has the breadth and depth of NMS.

I wish these idiot trolls would just go away and leave the strange boys to their strange toys. We know what we like.
