I'm going crazy? Sea monsters?
I was flying around in a nice planet, mostly made of tropical islands, full of critters.

While flying at max speed I could swear that I saw a shadow moving under the water, but to be seen from the air, it would be huge...
Most likely it was an glitch or something, but it sure startled me.

I should go in the water and investigate... but the deep water frightens me a little...

I've seen large sea creatures swimming near the surface while I was flying low over the water. One time a couple large swordfish-type fish. So no, you're not crazy.

I guess that I have to check, I need rigogen anyway... I just need a resonator thing to spawn an exo, there is no way I'm going to swim there. :steamsad:

could have been a shadow.. shadow of your ship, another AI ship, a freighter maybe.. The largest sea "monster" I've found was like the size of a great white shark.. big enough, but definitely no giant...

I've spent alot of time underwater at this point, there aren't any massive sea creatures yet, but I think they have an aquatic patch in the works that we'll see sooner rather than later.

Most massive creatures in NMS are not preditors

things in the water are not uncommon... so its possible a planet could have a bigger one

But when you do find a 8m creature that's hostile. It's freaking scary.

I found this weird fish that kept trying to kill me, but luckily I just upgraded the heck out of my suit so I was fine...but yes, there is some messed up stuff in the water.

Sometimes I think I see a massive shadow moving but it is just a combo of procgen and lighting.

There are no massive sea creatures currently that I am aware of. Biggest you might find would be shark sized. Sadly no massive whale type creatures. Would be scary but would still like them in the game.

I've had shark like things attack me, but no massive behemoth creatures, sadly. I wonder how you would get to your grave if it's in the belly of a beast? Therefore, it doesn't exist in game.
There are for sure some large hungry beasts down there. Most of them have chased me, and a few times they have won that race. There are many really large, and frequently stealth predators in the deep waters. They do come out of nowhere and attempt to take a bite out of you. They did some nice AI on the carnivors down there. Yes that shadow out of the corner of your eye when you are low flying over the ocean is quite likely a hungry monsterous mutated sea cucumber with really large teeth and a bad attitude.
