Sentinels follow you off planet is this new?
Ok so i landed on a barren planet with frenzy sentinels so i knew there must be something valuable,

scouting around i found gravitino orbs (the glowing balls) so i snagged a couple legged it back to my ship before my life support gave out (drains really fast on barren planets)and the sentinel dog thing got to me.

I made it to space, usually this deactivates the sentinels but not this time the space sentinels came after me WTF?
I've played for a long time and this has never happened to me before is it a new thing?

Heh, that's a very good idea actually. That and take all those modules and sell them indoors at a terminal. :P

Yep, I picked up 3 Netrino Moduals (or what ever they are called) that way. Easy safe way to farm for them.

It may have to do with level of security on the planet too. I remember when i first discovered a moon full of orbs i kept getting chased on exit for just having the orbs. If the security is high enough on one of these planets when the sentinel scans you or your ship it will go on high alert pretty fast. Other times i've been on low security planets and the moment the wanted goes down from picking up one of these items they carry on ignoring me. I know on aggressive planets just your pressence will put them into a frenzy, so it could be something along these lines that the conditions were all met for you to finally have this happen.

Oh, I did find out that if you are being hurt by them or the walkers, you can dive in or drive into the water, submerse, and they forget you, it also heals up your vehicles shields too. I do like the stepped up AI and them being more dangerous now. They were kind of a joke before. It makes it a bit more thrilling to loot those precious resources now. :D

Hmm...Finding water planets is a nightmare (rigogen), every time i leave a system with water i find i need more rigogen, good to know though I'll keep it in mind.
need them to update the water texture the white water really bugs me for the same reason

I found a planet with rigogen in the shallows, it was a flora only planet with nothing but zinc nodes on land. I had it as a base for a day, but i couldn't stand the fact that it would take 30min to get 1 node of PU. ( i put a few stacks in a container and moved on from that)

eventually you'll find an easy rigogen situation if you look enough.

I did notice the Sentinel Doggies now hit harder! Was messing with them on a extreme sentinel planet and not paying close attention and got face melted quick. Was pretty funny.
So do the walkers. I actually have a story where the opposite of what happened to the OP happened to me.

So, there I was, brand new fighter, out in space looking for trouble. I actually wanted the sentinel ship to come after me so I could pilfer their dimensional matricies (plural for matrix, for those of you who are about to try and correct me). I wasn't too far from the atmosphere of the nearest planet, so when I got Alert Level 5, I turned tail and boosted to the planet surface. When I leapt out of my ship, I was greeted by two walkers, a dog, and 5 drones. Mind you, I'm playing on normal, so I chuckled and waged a one man war...thank god there was a cave nearby because ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥! Those walkers hit harder than I remember! They dropped my shields and left me with 2 health squares (for reference, I had health modules theta and tau installed, so full health was about 7 squares). I prevailed and got what I was looking for, and licking my wounds as I'm walking back to my ship. Pirates ain't ♥♥♥♥ to me, sentinels however... *shivers*

I suggest searching out some systems near your home base to find one with rigonen and then just come back to it to farm when you need it.

Interesting. Might have lost my wanted level before exiting the planet, but I had shopped a few orbs, which instantly give you level 3 I believe. Prior you may have needed a level 5 before the sentinal ships appeared when you left the planet, they may have lowered it to level 3.

Not new at all. Has happened to me on several occasions, even pre-foundation.

It's pretty much about the wanted level, if you leave the planet with your wanted level still on it will be the same as gaining the wanted level while in space and the sentinels will spawn :) it has always been like this. It's just that before, as soon as you entered the ship you lost the wanted level, but now, it still stays for a while :)

Yes true, even this early screenshot shows an on planet battle there were about 20 Sentinel ships at one point
