Where to get gold?

So I need gold to repair damages from a blackhole, but there is no gold in the system. Nobody is selling any and none of the planets display any on the scan. What do I do? I can't jump out of the system. Do I have to buy a new ship?

Scan planets. Go to a planet with gold. Look for a gold shiny formation sticking up (sometimes not high and the gold patch may be small). Mine.

Ouch. Do you have a base set up yet? If you do, and it's in a different system, I'd say go to the space station and teleport back home. Fix it there if you can and teleport back to the system that you're stuck in. I'm guessing that this isn't an option though, right? The only other thing that I can think of is to keep going between the staion and any traders planetside until one of them sells gold. Hope one of those is an option. But, inventory is random, so eventually you might find some on a trader.

Try buying from traders in Freighters. They usually have different types of cargo than traders in station (thamium for example, where traders in freighters always have them and traders in stations never have them).

Correct, I hadn't played this save since before the base building update anyway. I'm hoping to catch some gold on a trader, otherwise I might just be SOL

Why did you not plan ahead? Always keep important stuff with you.

The planetary scan dont show all the resources on a planet maybe u can fin a little deposit somewhere or followw the trade rutes and loock for a comercial port maybe there u can buy some gold
